"Aren't You Glad" as written by Brian Douglas Wilson and Mike E. Love....
Today could be a lot of fun
And precious one
I'd feel good just to walk with you

Tonight will be a special treat
You're so sweet
And I feel good just to talk with you

You know that I been a long time needing you
You say that you been a long time needing me
And don't you know that there's so much more to come

I got a heart that just won't stop beating for you
I got a love I just can't stop feeling for you

Aren't you glad now darling there's me and you
(tell me tell me you know what I mean) [me and you]
And I say aren't you glad with these days comes somethin' new
(tell me tell me you know what I mean) [me and you]
And I say aren't you glad now tell me you're so glad
[me and you]

(doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Today is another day
Another way to get this feeling across to you
Tonight will be another night
That's outta sight cause I know the way to get close to you

You know that I'll be a long time loving you
I hope that you'll be a long time loving me
And don't you know that there's so much more to come

I got a heart that just won't stop beating for you
I got a love I just can't stop feeling for you

Aren't you glad now darling there's me and you
(tell me tell me you know what I mean) [me and you]
And I say aren't you glad with these days comes summer
(tell me tell me you know what I mean) [me and you]
And I say aren't you glad now tell me you're so glad
[me and you]

General CommentA very funky song off the criminally underrated "Wild Honey" from 1967. Lead vocal by Mike with Brian singing a bit and Carl on the chorus. Great song.

General CommentWhen i need to brighten my spirits, i frequently turn to the beach boys. The is a good example of a great "feeling brightener"

General CommentThis is a super song. It's so innocent and whimsical... The lyrics speak for themselves, but there's actually a lot going on in the music to promote the innocent feeling as well:

The vocals are somewhat louder in this track than other tracks in the album, but they're sung quietly, not shouted. None of the vocal parts are sung in unison either. It's not sung entirely by one person, but there's no time when two people sing the same lyric at one time.

There are no instrumental melodic riffs either, and the entire melody is played out by the voice. This emphasizes the voice and lyrics too.

The music itself is very simple. There are no syncopated parts in the verse, and there is almost no embellishment by the drums or bass anywhere in the song.

The best part of the song is definitely the cheesy "I got a heart that just won't stop beating for you". The drums prove it by beating out a lub-dub just after that line
