frightened of my home, it's good safe to be alone
a message red light blinking, but i don't want to know
stayed in bed all week, left your friends in Phoenix
i gave my heart away, but my belt still fits though
and even though i try, i'm still alone
my decision to leave is always left to the unknown
and the message in the 8-ball says so long

moving out tomorrow, next week i don't recall
i'm gonna miss this place, but i'll miss you most of all
i kept my shorts and shirts, but i'm not a little kid
you said you're coming back, well i'm sorry that you did
even though i try, i'm still alone
my decision to leave is always left to the unknown
and the message in the 8-ball says so long
and the message in the 8-ball says so long
and the message in the 8-ball says i'm scared to be alone
and the message in the 8-ball says so long

Very nice song, love the country jig sound at the end XD. I think this is about a guy who is in a point in his life where he doesn't care too much about anything and he is a bit lonely. There is a girl that he likes though, but she is just causing more problems than she is worth "you said you're coming back, well I'm sorry that you did" could be a reference to the fact that he is friendly with this girl but the fact that she is going to come back into his life is bad for him because he realises that as much as he loves her she will never love him. Overall he is just an indecisive, lonely, apathetic man and leaves his life to chance to avoid making important decisions (the 8-ball).

Gentle Hour

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
