"How You Gonna See Me Now" as written by Bernie Taupin, Alice Cooper and Dick Wagner....
Dear darlin' surprised to hear from me?
Bet you're sittin' drinkin' coffee, yawnin' sleepily
Just to let you know
I'm gonna be home soon
I'm kinda awkward and afraid
Time has changed your point of view

How you gonna see me now
Please don't see me ugly babe
'Cause I know I let you down
In oh so many ways
How you gonna see me now
Since we've been on our own
Are you gonna love the man
When the man gets home

Listen darlin' now I'm heading for the west
Straightened out my head but my old heart is still a mess
Yes I'm worried honey
Guess that's natural though
It's like I'm waiting for a welcome sign
Like a hobo in the snow

How you gonna see me now
Please don't see me ugly babe
'Cause I know I let you down
In oh so many ways
How you gonna see me now
Since we've been on our own
Are you gonna love the man
When the man gets home

And just like the first time
We're just strangers again
I might have grown out of style
In the place I've been
And just like the first time
I'll be shakin' inside
When I walk in the door
There'll be no place to hide

How you gonna see me now
Please don't see me ugly babe
'Cause I know I let you down
In oh so many ways
How you gonna see me now
Since we've been on our own
Are you gonna love the man
When the man gets home

General CommentI don't know if it was intended like that, but as I see it, it has two meansings. It is about a man coming back form the assylum, hoping that his wife still loves him and still wants him. It is also about a rockstart coming back to business after a long absence, hoping his fans still love him and still want him.

General CommentActually at first this wasn't a song, it was a letter to his wife, when he came back from rehab, he was wondering how it would be... would all be the same or different???

General CommentIt is about when he was in rehab for 5 or 6 years. And how he was afraid that when his when his wife met him when he came out that she may not love him sober more when he was drunk. It is really just a love song for his wife showing how strong he believes in marriage.

General CommentThe lyrics in this song are fantastic. It is about Alice getting treatment for his alcoholism in an asylum b/c in the late 70's there was no differentiation between abuse and mental health. The song is a dedication to his wife about coming home from the asylum. He is afraid that he will return different and his wife won't recognize him or love him anymore. This concept carried over to his Alice persona as well; not performing completely sober until 1986. Anyone struggling with a problem should listen to this song. It is very very powerful. I drink too much myself and can take a lot, and I mean a lot, of meaning form it. I am a male and I sometimes admit I cry when I hear this song - really hits home.

General CommentGod, I love this song so much.

This is the song that keeps me from starting drugs or anything like that, I just keep thinking: What would my loved ones, more specifically my girlfriend, think?

General CommentIt wasn't rehab, it was the sanitarium. The whole album is based on the time he spent in an asylum.

Now he's kinda talking to his wife, like in a letter or something, letting her know he's coming home. Wondering if she'll still love him, or if she'll see gim in a different light since he's been gone, and left her alone. He's kind of timid and afraid, since he's been away so long, thinking it's like they're meeting for the first time all over again.

Basically the song is him wondering "Are you still going to love me, like you did before?"
