"Black Metal" as written by and Jeffrey Dunn Anthony Bray....
Black is the night, metal we fight
Power amps set to explode.
Energy screams, magic and dreams
Satan records the first note.
We chime the bell, chaos and hell
Metal for maniacs pure.
Faster than steel, fortune on wheels
Brain haemorrhage is the cure.

Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Lay down your souls to the gods rock 'n roll!

Freaking so wild, nobody's mild
Giving it all that you got.
Wild is so right, metal tonight
Faster than over the top.
Open the door, enter hell's core
Black is the code for tonight.
Atomic force, feel no remorse
Crank up the amps now its night

Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Black metal

Lay down your souls to the gods rock 'n roll!
Metal ten fold through the deadly black hole.
Riding hell's stallions bareback and free!
Taking our chances with raw energy.

Come ride the night with us
Rock hard and fight
United my legions we stand
Freak hard and wild for us
Give up your soul
Live for the quest satan's band

Black Metal!

Against the odds, black metal gods
Fight to achieve our goal
Casting a spell, leather and hell
Black metal gods rock 'n roll
Building up steam, nuclear screams
War-heads are ready to fight
Black leather hounds, faster than sound
Metal our purpose in life

Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Black metal
Black metal

Lay down your souls to the gods rock 'n roll!
Oh! Black Metal!

General CommentLol Cradle of Filth version better?? Man that makes me sick to my stomach.

This was pretty much the song that started black metal, while the song itself is best descriped as speed metal, in the vein of a more aggresive Motorhead. Chronos evil vocal delivery, and the fast riff would go onto inspire countless black metal bands a few years later. Great song, a true metal classic. \m/

General CommentThe raw energy in this is just so fucking insane. Especially in the original. Dani Filth butchered this with his obnoxious voice and keyboards. BLACK METAL!!!!!1

General Commentthis song is awesome! i find some humor in it given that it's an all-time favorite of mine. i find it humorous because the vocals at the end right before the final words "black metal" are sung are trying to scare me (the series of moans i'm referring to), but it is entertaining to hear that because it doesn't scare me. and what is funny is that this song is perfect to scare innocent people with when giving out candy for Halloween. these guys better make it into the rock and roll hall of fame or something! they deserve total recognition in the entire world of music! legends of rock they are!

General Commentthis is real black metal not the screamy shit. this band along with slayer it's almost like a religious experience for me even if they don't believ in satanism.

General CommentThis song is so cool, it's like they put out this wicked album and at the same time invented a new style of music. Although listening to Dimmu Borgir and Akercocke, makes me think that maybe thats not a good thing...
