"Shotgun Blues" as written by W. Axl Rose, Saul Hudson, Duff Rose Mckagan, Izzy Stradlin, Darren A. Reed and Matt Sorum....
I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
I said I don't know what I did
But I know I gotta move
I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
I can't wait here forever
I got too much here to lose

An now you're blowin' smoke
I think you're one big joke
Me...I gotta lot to learn
An I'm still waitin' for the heads to turn
You say I walk a line
Fuck they move it every time
You walk a mile in my shoes
And then you tell me 'bout singin' the blues
You get what you pay for
An freedom's real high priced
An while your rippin' off children
Somebody's fuckin' your wife
It's never made a difference
It's only how you survive

I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
I said I don't know what I did
But I know I gotta move
I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
I can't wait here forever
I got too much here to lose
An now you ask me why
I said it's do or die
I'll stick it right in your face
And then I'll put you in your motherfuckin' place
And you...you can suck my ass
An I think it's so low class
Me...I'm just so concerned
I'm still waitin' for your ass to burn
Ooooh you want a confrontation
I'll give you every fuckin' chance
With your verbal masturbation
Me...I just like to dance
How's that for provocation
I'm just makin' a stance
An I'm tired of the frustration
Of livin' inside of your lies
And I'm wired on indignation
I said somebody's got to die

I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
I said I don't know what I did
But I know I gotta move
I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
I can't stay here forever
I got too much here to lose
I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
Listen motherfucker
You're about to pay your dues
I got the shotgun blues
Shotgun blues
If you're goin' up against me
Then you know you're gonna lose
I know
I know (there's ways- that we- can find)
I know
I know

You think anyone with an I.Q. over fifteen
Would believe your shit...fuckhead
Nothin' but a fuckin' pussy

General CommentApparantly, this was Axl's challenge to Vince Neil from Motley Crue. Vince agreed, but they never had a fight.

General CommentIt's a threat that Axl is doing to someone that did something fucked up to him: "Listen motherfucker you're about to pay your dues. If you're gonna come against me then you know you're gonna loose!" Gr8 rhytm, just roxx! I love it. Actually, I love every song of GNFR

General Commentthis is a great song but it's about vince and axl's fight. axl's a pansy. he never had the ass to fight with vince but he talked very bad bout him everytime in everyway... "And then you tell me 'bout singin' the blues"... vince gave consuel to axl to tell him how to keep a high and clean voice when you broke you vocal cord every nite onstage.. and axl rearranged this good thing to make it work against the great vince.. what a stupid dude

General CommentAwesome lyrics. Anyways about the Vince and Axl crap. That was years ago. Either way this song can be about 1 of 10million dudes that pissed Axl off so who really knows. Love the song though

My InterpretationMeh, it's not like everyone doesn't already know what an asshole Vince Niel is.

It was just a stupid spat between two rockers acting childish that never amounted to anything. It wouldn't have done anything like preventing the two bands from touring again.

Not that they had the chance to anyway.

Anyway, I reckon this is one of the songs many people site when they say the UYI albums have too much filler. I don't agree really, the song isn't bad now and again. It's not really up to the standard of the other GNR songs though.

The question is, would we rather have had this or a proper studio version of Crash Diet?
I sure as hell know what I would have prefered.
