"*******" as written by and George Cromarty Ed Rush....
I don't care if it rains or freezes
Long as I got my plastic Jesus
Sittin' on the dashboard of my car
Comes in colors, pink and pleasant
Glows in the dark, it's iridescent
Take it with you when you travel far

Get yourself a sweet Madonna
Dressed in rhinestone, settin' on a
Pedestal of Abalone Shells
Goin' 90, I ain't scared
'Cause I got the Virgin Mary
Assuring me that I won't go to hell

General CommentThis song is about people knowing that they have jesus and god, and so they take that to there advantage. Its kind of hard to describe, but just read it a couple times and you will get it.

General Commentbilly idol.. i like how this song is up twice.. but anyway.. i get kind of a sarcastic(ish) feel for tihs song... like people believing they're fine if they have a plastic jesus..being ignorant about religion maybe?"assuring me i won't go to hell" hmmm

General Comment"Plastic Jesus" is actually a really old folk song. On the inside of the CD, they credit this song as "song from Cool Hand Luke" (good movie by the way) because Paul Newman plays it in the movie, but the song itself actually predates even that movie by a fair number of years. So anyway, the lyrics are probably quite literal. I can't really picture old folk singers being sarcastic about religion. Wayne doesn't strike me as being terribly religious, however, so he might've chosen to cover this song to make some sort of subtle statement.
