"Nitemare Hippy Girl" as written by and Beck Hansen....
She took me off my guard with disappointment
I got sucked inside of her apartment
She's got dried-up flowers, flaky skin
A beaded necklace and a bottle of gin
She's a nightmare hippy girl
With her skinny fingers fondlin' my world
She's a whimsical, tragical beauty
Self-conscious and a little bit moody
It's a new age let-down in my face
She's so spaced out and there ain't no space
She's got marijuana on the bathroom tile
I'm caught in a vortex, she's changin' my style
She's a nightmare hippy girl
With her skinny fingers fondlin' my world
She's a whimsical, tragical beauty
Uptight and a little bit snooty
... oh, oh, oh ...
She's a magical, sparklin' tease
She's a rainbow chokin'' the breeze
Yo, she's bustin' out onto the scene
With nightmare bogus poetry
She's a melted avocado on the shelf
She's the science of herself
She's spazzing out on a cosmic level
And she's meditating with the devil
She's cooking salad for breakfast
She's got tofu the size of Texas
She's a witness to her own glory
She's a never-ending story
She's a frolicking depression
She's a self-inflicted obsession
She's got a thousand lonely husbands
She's playin' footsie in another dimension
Using her time for all that it's worth

General CommentI've known a few chicks like this. It's so spot on, too. Captures the essence and beauty of the "hippie chick" so perfectly. I love this tune. Brings back memories of old friends. One in particular. But then thinking about her starts me thinking about the whole old gang, and it's just a great nostalgia tune for me. Always makes me think back to years gone by, and always makes me smile. That's what this one means to me. Thanks, Beck.

General CommentI always figured "footsie in another dimension" was A) totally wasted and B) flirting with ideas of spirituality in that superficial, ankh&angst kinda way

Incidentally, I *totally* know this Nitemare Hippie girl. Seriously, I first heard this song wfrom a friend who was singing it in the kitchen and I was amazed, because usually she can't rhyme worth a damn, and I was convinced she'd written it for our puff-pastry pal.

I agree with the last post... I hate it when music and stuff is just a trend to some people :/

General CommentThis kind of seems like it is a song that you write for/about a friend, half mocking(but thats ok, because even that seems flattering here). I don't really get a vibe of like, a girlfriend here. Just that friend who just seems, like amazing and crazy...or two or three all mixed together. I love it. (Who's going to write a song about me?)

General CommentI love the very last stanza.
I downloaded the song, but only listened to it a few times and didn't really know the lyrics and one morning I fell asleep with my iPod and was half-asleep listening to this song in my dream and I swear I thought I made the lyrics up.
So when I was fully conscious, I got on the computer and looked up the lyrics and I found out it was Beck.
    I thought it was funny.
But yeah, I like this song. :]
