Come out little mosquito,
and prove you are my love.
Preach to me a strange obsession
poised on a highway of blood.

Highway of blood...

On a highway of blood.

Yeah.

Creeping up my staircase...
Switching off all the lights.
Nobody can see us now,
show me you can bite.

Bite.

You gotta try it
to know what it's like.
as mosquito drives the spike.
I made a choice, God lost the fight,
and I don't hear him crying.

Oh...

Don't hear him crying.
I don't hear God crying.

Yeah.

On wings it hears me calling.
Desire is of a sting.
Brings me the identity
I came to this world missing.

Yeah, missing...

Missing.

I remember your father...
But do you remember me?
Did I leave a footprint
in the dust of your memory?

Down in the dust?

You've gotta try it
to know what it's like...
as mosquito drives the spike.
And I made a choice, God lost the fight,
and I don't hear him crying.

Yeah.

An' I don't hear him crying.

Yeah.

Come out little mosquito,
and prove you are my friend.
I can't turn the lights back on...
is this how it ends?

Is this how it ends?

"Hey, baby..."
"where you at?"
"There you are..."
"what the fuck'd you do?!"

My InterpretationI feel that towards the end of the song, when his hippie girlfriend comes into the house, she finds him sitting on his couch or bed or maybe the floor even, dead or unconscious from an overdose on heroin. All the lyrics talk of heroin addiction with the mosquito driving the spike. He made a choice god lost the fight. And he's not even crying
