@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
They always said that you
Would never be anything
Everything you tried to do was
Just a waste of time
But you believed you could do
Anything you wanted to
You made your mind up
And you never looked behind
Don't let them try to tell you
How to live your life
Don't let them hold you back
Don't ever change your mind
[Chorus]
Individuality
Be proud of what you are
Individuality
Don't let them cut you down
You can be whatever you want to be
But don't change your self for society
Don't lose your individuality
The years go by and find that
Nothing comes easily
And the world is full of people
Tryin to take you down
Don't ever turn your back on
Anythin you'll ever be
You don't need to prove yourself
To anybody else
Don't let them try to tell you
How to live your life
Don't let them hold you back
Don't ever change your mind
[Chorus]
Individuality
Be proud of what you are
Individuality
Don't let them cut you down
You can be whatever you want to be
But don't change your self for society
Don't lose your individuality
There is no run for second best
No second chance don't fail the test
Gotta rise above the rest
Gotta try to make your mark
No need to be so vain
No need to act so proud
Follow the trends don't ever
Stand out from the crowd
Do you really care what
Other people think about you
Does it really matter what they do
Or what they say
You fought so hard to let 'em
Throw it all back in your face
When their opinion never
Mattered anyway
Don't let them try to tell you
How to live your life
Don't let them hold you back
Don't ever change your mind
[Chorus]
Individuality
Be proud of what you are
Individuality
Don't let them cut you down
You can be whatever you want to be

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
A great hold your head up high song, it's hard to get hold of songs by this band on the internet unfortunately. This song is a definite for people with low self esteem, brilliant song about individuality although I still say you'll never be individual as long as you wear underwear.
"but dont change your self for society dont lose your individuality."
This song is about not conforming to society and being yourself no matter what people think of you, what you mean to you is what is important. To "Be proud of what you are."
Area 7 has been a very important band to me since around January 06 when i was first introduced to the band. This isn't there best but a great none the less.
If you like ska i urge you to listen to this band, they are a very cheerful band and can often raise your mood if things get down.
the title says it all. be yourself, dont let anyone try to change you and just be an individual. not that hard to figure it out.
I understand, but what is with the lyric:
"follow the trends dont ever stand out from the crowd"
Isn't not following the trends an individual's choice and thus part of individuality?
This song is so amazingly corny... I can't believe I ever liked it. But what's more amazing is that coming back to it, I still ADORE it, now more than ever. It's corny, it's preachy, and it's cliched... but it makes you feel better when you're down, and I know, because it's been stuck in my head for years now and it comes up every time I'm down.
The song itself? It doesn't give a message, it beats you over the head with it. It's cliche, yeah, but still, it's a worthy message because there seem to be way too many people that still need to hear it.
