"Shroud Of False" as written by and Duncan John Patterson....
We are just a moment in time,
A blink of an eye,
A dream for the blind,
Visions from a dying brain,
I hope you don't understand

General CommentI love it. "I hope you don't understand" is saying that he hopes we don't know the deep sadness associated with knowing how pathetically short and pointless are lives are.

General Commentthis song is like a pair with "fragile dreams".so it must me thought as a one song with the fragile dreams and is an important piece from anathema.

General CommentThe song is so sad. It's like a quiet dream that we cannot remember clearly when we wake up, but we do feel we had it. That's my feeling whenever I listen to it.

My InterpretationI agree with A.M. With such a short verse they've manage to convey such a deep meaning; that we would all fall into despair if we were to ever comprehend how futile existence is. An amazing start to the album.
