This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
Come take my hand
You should know me
I've always been in your mind
You know I will be kind
I'll be guiding you
Building your dream
Has to start now
There's no other road to take
You won't make a mistake
I'll be guiding you
You have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
From where I stand
You are home free
The planets align so rare
There's promise in the air
And I'm guiding you
Through every turn I'll be near you
I'll come anytime you call
I'll catch you when you fall
I'll be guiding you
You have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
Hey, you have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
Have to believe we are magic
Don't let your aim ever stray
And if all your hopes survive
Destiny will arrive
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
I'll bring all your dreams alive
For you
You should know me

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Midnight
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms.
“Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
It reads like a persons self-esteem pushing them onward toward greater things. Not to be afraid to move forward in life, not to be afraid to fail. However, the esotericist in me thinks the song is about a spirit guide. Read it again and put it in the context of a spirit guide or guardian angel. I'm right, huh?
@NuSoardGraphit This is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I paid attention to the lyrics for the first time today. I felt like this song was from the point-of-view of a Higher Self or spirit guide(s) giving the ego encouragement to pursue fulfillment in this current life.
@NuSoardGraphit This seems like a great interpretation! I think it fits better for a spirit to be ‘guiding’ rather than a living person. Great lyrics - inspiring and comforting concepts

From where I stand We are home free Planets aligned so rare There's promise in the air And I'm guiding you
Come take my hand You should know me "hoisted?" in your mind You know that I'll be kind I'll be guiding you
This is the simple lesson in life. Negative thinking distorts or disturbes the guidances of the monad so that your aim does str, wasting your time with countless imaginings unimportant to the destiny. Once you realize and quietr these fuckjed up fraudulent motherfuckers inside your head. And if your not dead, then listen to this bitch. She talks some ggod shit eh.
Basically, no matter the perceived results that YOU see, if you continue to persevere without giving up and you keep you dreams and aspirations alive no matter how humble or bold they will come true by the will of god our innermost. Its how it has been written and its how it shall be sold.
It has a very special meaning in my life because I had a weird experience while listening to it by mistake. That is all I can really say.
Spirit guide?
You sound mentally retarded.
Have to believe we are magic Nothing can stand in our way Have to believe we are magic Don't let your aim ever stray And if all your hopes survive Destiny will arrive and bring all your dreams alive For you
I really need to find this woman... So please tell me where she is? ;-)
This is not a song about positive or negative thinking, but rather about magical thinking. The singer rejects reality, as "Nothing can stand in our way." This song is about a couple who hopes to find eternal love through magical thinking, and ignoring the truth. It is mostly about a fantasy woman who will always catch the man before he falls, who will come whenever he calls, who will bring all his dreams alive. Unless, of course, she gets breast cancer or befalls some other reality....
Love the song! I used to think it was about a special, romantic relationship implying that this fantasy woman actually exists ( "have to believe we are magic....make all your dreams alive"). The part about "make your dreams come true" makes me think of a sexual fantasy happening (sorry but being a man I can't help it plus which Olivia's beautiful and sexy voice it seems like a common reaction (for a man)).
Now, I think the song is more about a spiritual connection. Maybe the physical aspects are there too but as I've learned over many years, the special friendship, support and love that come into relationships is what the "magic" is all about.
This is a Very Special Song with an Important Special Meaning...
