I didn't ask you to take me from here
I didn't ask to be broken
I didn't ask you to stroke my hair
Or treat me like a worthless token
But my skin is thick
My mind is strong
I am built like my father was
I've done nothing wrong
So free me
I just wanna feel what life should be
I just want enough space to turn around
And face the truth
So free me
When are you gonna realize,
You're just wrong?
You can't even think for yourself
Can't even make up your minds
So my mind's a jail
And I hate the whole goddam human race
What the hell do you want from me?
Kill me if you just dont know
Or free me
I just wanna feel what life should be
I just want enough space to turn around
Cos you're all fucked
And someday maybe you'll treat me like you

General CommentIf you have the album you can tell its obviously about how omnivores are evil (apparently I'm evil). But to me this song is about standing up for a cause. People should believe in SOMEthing (curse you nihalists!). Free Me is about thinking for yourself and not blindly believing everything you're told. That's today's lesson , kids! Have fun with it.

General Comment"And i hate the whole goddam human race
What the hell do you want from me?" I love that line. I think this song is saying "the world is beating me down, but I'm stronger than them and I will survive." Obviously sung from the viewpoint of mistreated animals, but it doesn't have to be just that. Either way, the song rules, the album rules (I drove 2 1/2 hours to Canada to get it 2 weeks early... and took Berkowitz412 with me). Go buy the CD May 21. You won't be disappointed.

General CommentBerkowitz412 , I humbly disagree. The whole album radiates John's strong feelings of animal rights. The disturbingly graphic Free Me video, Open Your Eyes being the title track AND the single released, the rant and statistics in the booklet, the signs and even the man on the cover (a vegan) are all John's command that people stop killing animals needlessly. His dedication to the cause goes way, way beyond idealism for the sake of idealism. The bastard did his job well. Converted me.

General CommentThis song brings so much fucking emotion. The video makes you realize that you dont have to be that hungry to eat meat. I am a vegetarian, and just seeing a video on how cruelly that treat animals just for human's appetite is fucking appalling. Good for them for making this song and the video. it fucking rocks

General CommentThis song reminds me of this tragic relationship I once had, oh wait! No it doesn't because it's clearly about animals being gratuitously murdered for the peripheral needs of a selfish human race. Needless to say I am down with the message of this song. And check out fall of troy, that band is amazing.
