There is a fire to light a sleeping heart
A wish to see the Spirit take control

Crush the chains that hold you down
and let yourself be filled with fire
Wake up and realize the dream you've lived
was set up by the liar
A broken heart, a kneeling soul
The Spirit will set you on fire
to give you strength to reach the ones
who search the truth with deep desire - Desire

Crucifixion of the ego
Death and burial of the old

Crush the chains that hold you down
and let yourself be filled with fire
A broken heart, a kneeling soul
The Spirit will set you on fire

There is no spiritual authority
outside obedience to God

A broken heart is needed to reach this state
Divine encounter with the living God

The crucifixion of the ego
leads to the death and burial of the old life

General CommentGreat Song.......I believe it is about letting go of yourself and letting God take over. He will break your chains and save you from yourself and Satan.

General CommentWow. This presents an extremely powerful message to me. It is also very close to what I wanted for an upcoming Youth Group lesson I am going to teach. Starts off more light and then almost knocks you off your feet/butt/whatever with their screaming vocals of truth.

I cant add anything to that. Really, i need to remember that, and crucify my ego. Thats one way i know you humble yourself before our Lord Jesus the Christ.

General CommentThis song is great. Extol has an outstanding vocalist, a good drummer, and amazing guitarists.

This song represents to me about how you have to set fire to your soul and burn away your sins. It's about how if you play around sin too much, you will become chained. This is about gathering whats left of your dignity, and crushing those chains. It's about then lighting fire to Satan's soul and spitting in his face for the foolish things he's tempted you to do. Then, it's the calming down, and praying to God for his forgiveness. It goes from fire, to smolder, to a small ember.

General Comment"let yourself be filled with fire", what an idea if all Christians would just catch the flame and allow it to purge and refine us, then we would take this world by storm
