"Rain" as written by John Lennon and Paul Mccartney....
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down

Nobody ever loved me like she does
Ooh, she does
Yes, she does
And if somebody loved me like she do me
Ooh, she do me
Yes, she does

Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down

I'm in love for the first time
Don't you know it's gonna last?
It's a love that lasts forever
It's a love that has no past

Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down

And from the first time that she really done me
Ooh, she done me
She done me good
I guess nobody ever really done me
Ooh, she done me
She done me good

Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down

General CommentJohn casting a cynical eye over straight society. A anthem for the rebellious sixties youth, a la street fighting man.

General CommentI think "Rain" symbolizes a bad point in life. And how people just "run and hide" instead of facing it. And then when the sun shines, a good point in life, "they slip into the shade", they don't go enjoy the sun. It's like they can never be happy with anything. But in reality, a person's ability to a difficult situation will determine how they feel and I think that's what John means when he sings "can you hear me, that when it rains or shines, it's just a state of mind". just how we see it. Rain can be beauiftul. Rain, i don't mind.

General Commenteven though delyla's and anyone else who wrote something like it interpretation's is good and creative, and for those who haven't read it, it basically said that rain is a bad point in their lives and they're overreacting, and when sun shines (a good point in their life) they don't take advantage of it.

But john lennon said that "Rain" was "about people moaning about the weather all the time"

so the song is to be taken literally. and i personally love the literal meaning. i hate it when people are like "no it's raining its such a depressing day i can't wait for sun!" and i'm thinking, im gonna go frolic in the rain later and have myself a damn good time. and when its sunny, people say "ugh its too sunny and i;m gonna under a tree. sun please go away" and don't like what they wanted the whole time. i love rain, and winter, and it annoys me when people complain.

General CommentThe music is great, the *mix* was bad. The song was the first blast of real acid rock that ever hit the airwaves. It is very underrated.

General CommentI LOVE THIS SONG. Why arent there more comments? The story about the backwards track is that john came home from the studio after recording it and was stoned out of his mind. so, he accidentally put the tape in backwards and realized it sounded cool.

General CommentHave to agree with cronoyuha. Very possibly the Beatles' BEST work. As for the *mix*, DJacques75, it is a tad trebly, but the eq was routinely that way with *ALL* Beatles' stuff to enhance (mostly lo-fi AM) airplay at the time.

    General CommentRingo's favorite.
He's most proud of his drum playing.
The little drum solo in "The End" was't his idea. In fact, he did'nt want to do it because he doesn't like drum solos.
And here's his favorite drums. Discreet. Subtle. Yet, cool. A very important lesson to learn by all the young rock drummers who think that playing drums is all about playing fast and loud. Guitar players too for that matter
