"My Michelle (Guns N Roses cover)" as written by W. Axl Rose, Saul Hudson, Duff Rose Mckagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler....
Your daddy works in porno
Now that mommy's not around
She used to love her heroin
But now she's underground
So you stay out late at night
And you do your coke for free
Drivin' your friends crazy
With your life's insanity

Well, well, well you just can't tell
Well, well, well my Michelle

Sowin' all your wild oats
In another's luxuries
Yesterday was Tuesday
Maybe Thursday you can sleep
But school starts much too early
And this hotel wasn't free
So party till your connection call
Baby I'll return the key

Well, well, well you just can't tell
Well, well, well my Michelle
Well, well, well you never can tell
Well, well, well my Michelle

Everyone needs love
You know that it's true
Someday you'll find someone
That'll fall in love with you
But oh the time it takes
When you're all alone
Someday you'll find someone
That you can call your own
But till then ya better...

Now you're clean
And so discreet
I won't say a word
But most of all this song is true
Case you haven't heard
So c'mon and stop your whinin'
'Cause we both know money burns
Honey don't stop tryin;
An you'll get what you deserve

Well, well, well you just can't tell
Well, well, well my Michelle
Well, well, well you never can tell
Well, well, well my Michelle

General CommentI think AFI did a great Guns and Roses cover. This song is one of my favorites, cause it is awesome hearing Jade play all those 80's metal solos and shit. This song is so cool.

General CommentIf you didnt know, Davey was influenced by Poison and Motley Crue(believe it or not, its in an interview from 94'). Jade loves the 80's as well(Someone asked him to say what he liked about the 80's, and he said "I'd have to write you a book" or something), and his guitar work even in AFI songs shows it.
Ever notice the huge, anthematic, layered vocals on alot of AFI songs? Although the Misfits(a huge AFI influence) did this too(to a small degree), AFI's Harmonies are much more similiar to that of Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and Motley Crue.

Ahh, sorry for going Nuts. AFI did an amazing cover of this song. Davey's voice is alot like Axl's too(not quite as skilled, but also not quite as whiney) and he could nail this song where all the other bands on the "Punk Goes Metal" couldnt dream of emulating Axl's voice. Jade nails the guitar Solo, and in fact, due to the better mixing, I like listening the AFI version of the Song More. The Rhythm section is tight and Hunter plays Duff's basslines almost with more feel than the original artist himself(Although it could be due to better mixing).
All in all this is an amazing cover. They nail it perfectly.

General CommentWell well well, apart from Davey and his imitation/emulation on this, this song swings righteously in my opinion. Really cool coverversion!

General Commentum, has anyone here listened to the original before posting this, Davey isnt singing like Axl at all...and Davey is a much better singer and it'd be condescending for him to sing like anyone

General CommentI definitely think AFI's version has a better sound, then again the technology and mixing was much more advanced. Guns & Roses' version just sounds washed out. Jade is simply phenomenal though.
