"Alone" as written by Dave Abbruzzese, Michael David Mccready, Jeff Ament, Stone C Gossard and Eddie Vedder....
Wide awake like snakes in a panic
Never woke up alone ever before
Had a woman long as he can remember
His to forget, but he can't, he can't

Out of bed and he dreams in the shower
She's standing naked, he's apologizing
Reaches for her and the water turns red
Got woken up to be burned, burned, again

Go it alone
You got it, so it goes
Got his knees to his face
He can't take it any other way

On the streets he's a walking wounded
Having nothing he's got nothing to say
Thoughts of suicide and alleviation
Anything to get his heart off of the coals

Go it alone
You got it, so it goes
Got his knees to his face
He can't take it for another day

Wide awake and he shakes in a panic
Never woke up alone ever before
Had his woman long as he can remember
Sears to forget, but he can't, he can't

My OpinionFor those who care, here are the correct lyrics for the album (Lost Dogs) version of Alone by Pearl Jam

    Alone

Wide awake like snakes in a panic
Never woke up alone ever before
Had a woman long as he can remember
His to forget, but he can't, he can't

Out of bed and he dreams in the shower
    She's standing naked, he's apologizing
Reaches for her and the water turns red
Got woken up to be burned, burned, again

    Go it alone
You got it, so it goes
Got his knees to his face
He can't take it any other way

On the streets he's a walking wounded
Having nothing he's got nothing to say
    Thoughts of suicide and alleviation
Anything to get his heart off of the coals

    Go it alone
You got it, so it goes
Got his knees to his face
He can't take it for another day

Wide awake and he shakes in a panic
Never woke up alone ever before
Had his woman long as he can remember
Sears to forget, but he can't, he can't

General CommentI think that in order for one to come to grips with this song you would've had to lived something like that fictionalized character did. He's a bastard. Alone and helpless

General CommentUm, yeah, those are the lyrics to Alive, not Alone. Alone was never officially released but is one of their best songs...

General CommentI think the song referrs to Eddie never knowing his real father. He says "I'm still alive" to let his father know that hes still alive possibly.. but im pretty sure that it might have something to do with his real father

General CommentNeither of those lyrics are right. The first is Alive, the second, although titled Alone, is from a different band, (Creed maybe, sounds like them.)

    General CommentOoh, yeah. Ooh, yeah.

Mmm, Wide awake and he shakes in a panic. Never woke up alone ever before.
Had his woman long as he can remember. Tries to forget but he can't, he can't.
Out of bed and he dreams in the shower. She's standing naked and apologizing.
Reaches for her till his mind becomes blood hot. Woken up to be burned burned again.

Go it alone. You got it so it goes.
Gonna breathe and I said, "I can't take it any other way."

On the streets he's walking wounded. Doesn't smile for the child at play.
Thoughts of suicide and alleviation. Anything to get his heart off of the coals.
Does he fly away or just talk about it? Like a seagull born to cry in the wind.
Own experiences lead to a younger. All-alone you will meet the one who lies in wait.

Go it alone. You got it so it goes.
Try to breathe while you can. You can't take it any other way. Yeah, yeah.

I can help myself don't talk to me.
I can help myself don't talk to me.
    I can help myself. Myself.
I can help myself don't talk to me.
I can help myself don't talk to me.
I can help myself don't talk to me.
    I can help myself. Myself.

I can help myself don't talk to me. I can help myself.

Wide awake and he shakes in a panic. Never woke up alone ever before.
Had his woman long as he can remember. Tries to forget but he can't... he can't... he can't... he can't...

I can help myself don't talk to me.

these are at least close to the real ones

General CommentOK lets get it all straight. the lyrics at the top are Alive. bengal tigers lyrics are not pearl jams song alone. The correct lyrics were crackerman's the other 2 are completely different songs. i suggest you all (xept crackerman) purchase LOST DOGS by pearl jam and listen to ALONE and read through bengal tigers lyrics and then say its the right song

General Commentts been a long day at the bottom of the hill
She died of a broken heart
She told me I was livin' in the past
    Drinkin' from a broken glass

[Im alone, I never wanna be alone
Now I, turn to face the cold
Im alone, I never wanna be alone
Now I, turn to travel home]

I walked down to the other end today
Just to catch those last few rays
I held out my hands and slowly waved goodbye
I turn now my eyes up to the sky

[Im alone, I never wanna be alone
Now I, turn to face the cold
Im alone, I never wanna be alone
Now I, turn to travel home]

She'll come back to me (2x)
    All alone in its misery

those are the real lyrics to "alone"..

these are not the real lyrics to alone. this is not even pearl jam. and its not pearl jam and alice in chains. and its not creed and tool.

it is a shitty band that was around for a week called "Downface"

    band= downface
    album title= confidence
    track #= 3

look it up, they are absolutly horrendous.

General CommentI looked this song up cos i was curious. What a terrible song. The guitar is very simple, the voices are like false cats singing together. The song i found was said to be by Alice in Chains AND PJ but its definately not! I wonder how this misconception came about because it seems to be widespread. Someone should delete this song from the PJ list, its an insult ;)
