"Intravenous Agnostic" as written by and Bradfield/jones/moore....
Into a vein exhibit the derelict
A secular mosaic distracted at birth
A Cubist abstraction let it live forever
Narcissism so lonely so live by the sea

What a mess

Cosmetic - polemic
Distinguished by relics
Destructive aesthetic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous

Brutality is needed in capitalist society
Television abandoned my very entity
Nature failed me
But then it made me
We all pray for pluralist babies

Cosmetic - polemic
Distinguished by relics
Destructive aesthetic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous

Dismayed - dispossessed
Life becomes Calvanist
So sparkle and believe
Linguistics die easily

Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous agnostic
Intravenous

General Comment“Right, here we go - this is for every fuckwit of a journalist, who thinks that I’m trying too hard with my lyrics. It’s not that I try too hard, it’s just that I’m naturally fucking intelligent! Not like you retards! You retards who work for the sunday london papers, so fucking cool - YOU JUST WANNA FUCK ME, DON’T YOU! WELL YOU CAN’T!”

General CommentI'm not sure, actually - bits of it make sense, but I'm not sure about other bits (this song succeds in making me feel rather unintelligent).
Bits of the chorus seem to be sort of nostalgic about how the band used to be - "Cosmetic - polemic" (polemic= causing contoversy/dispute) especially. And "Destructive aesthetic" is very similar to the "Culture of destruction" of "Stay Beautiful". Also, the idea of being "Destinguished by relics" could be something to do with the fact that the band have changed over the years, and yet a lot of people still think of them as being how they were 10-15 years ago. I'm not sure - this is just guessing now.

There's loads of bits that I don't understand though - pretty much anything except what I said above. So I could quite easily be wrong, because there's so many bits that don't fit in. But that's the best I can do.

General Commentthis song's about western society and its failings. the cubist abstraction line sums up the fact the west is close minded.Cosmetic - polemic
    Distinguished by relics
    Destructive aesthetic
    Intravenous agnostic

the chorus sums up the failings of the west as in the society is obssessed with looking good "destructive aesthetic" sums up the attitude of wanting to to look good no matter the cost. it almost goes back to the manics anti consumerism days.

General CommentAs agnostic is someone who believes it is impossible to know the truth about god and therefore does not follow religion, maybe this song is using the same argument about the disenfranchised people in society who just accept that politics is corrupt and there is nothing we can do about it, we can not know the truth as the media follow there capitalist owners interests.
