Tune for the poparazzi
Tune for the poparazzi

This is a tune for the poparazzi
The who's who and the so and so's
This is a tune for the graven images of Marilyn Monroe

We saw your face on the magazine
We heard the song on the MP3

You're stuck in my head
Stuck in my head
Stuck in my head
You can close your ears and your eyes
But Pop will never leave you alone

Leave me alone with your social mingle
You try so hard to stay on top
Leave me alone with your little jingle
With your picture perfect pop

We read the article in Seventeen
We saw the video on MTv

You're stuck in my head
Stuck in my head
Stuck in my head
You can close your ears and your eyes
But Pop will never leave you alone

This is a tune for the last Nirvana
The teen spirit rock-and-roll
This is a tune for the velvet Elvis's
On the 90210

I thought my eyes were gonna get off clean
'Til I read your lips on the TV screen
You were busy saying what you didn't mean
Now everyone's singing along
With your ridiculous song
You got it stuck
You got it stuck in my head

Stuck in my head
Stuck in my head
You can close your ears and your eyes
You can close your ears and your eyes
But Pop will never leave you alone

Tune for the Poparazzi

General Comment"That whole "get it this time" thing at the beginning of the song is from the demo . Chad was having another go, saying, "I'll get it this time!" when I hit record. But I thought it sounded pretty cool so I kept it. The "tune" bit was me practicing for the line, "tune for the poparazzi." Again, maybe artistic choice, maybe laziness! I like things like that though: they give albums personality" -Jon Foreman

"We are surrounded by the noise of pop culture. Radio, TV, billboards, magazines: pop will never leave you alone. How we filter through all of it is extremely important. What will you give prime billing in the space between your ears? What are the tunes running around inside your head?" -Jon Foreman

"This song is a lover's quarrel with pop culture. I'm not sure if this song contributes more to the solution or the problem, because I just can't get it out of my head." -Chad Butler

General CommentThis song is awsome. I love how they mock Pop music. and how they just write catchy tunes. It's very funny

General CommentIt's about how much popular music doesn't have much meaning to it but everyone still listens to it and it's everywhere. The media won't let pop leave you alone. hehe

General CommentI think this song is saying that the poparazzi does have a good purpose. Punishing the people who commit a horrible crime....... pop music

General Comment"This song goes out to the Backstreet Boys. This song goes out to NSYNC. This song goes out to Mandy Moore."

That should sum it up for you.

General Commentthe ironic thing about this song is it says how pop gets stuck in your head although most of it's meaningless while this song is meaningful and gets stuck in your head.

This song isn't meaningless, its point is that pop music makes no statements at society and what they have problems with, they are "saying what they didn't mean", they don't even care as long as they hit #1 in the sales charts, what's ironic is that they do make this song catchy, but really waht song isn't catchy and get stuck in your head? Pop is meaningless because it makes no statement towards our society or how our society should be changed, which makes bands liek switchfoot so great, they're music and lyrics may be controversial but that's why they write them, because they are an artist and they're here to help shape and mold society
