"I Know" as written by Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Robert Schultzberg....
I know
You love the song but not the singer
I know
You've got me wrapped around your finger
I know
You want the sin without the sinner
I know
I know

[Chorus]
I know
The past will catch you up as you run faster
I know
The last in line is always called a bastard
I know
The past will catch you up as you run faster
I know
I know

I know
You cut me loose in contradiction
I know
I'm all wrapped up in sweet attrition
I know
It's asking for your benediction
I know
I know

[Chorus: x2]

General CommentBrian explained the meaning of this song.

Do you know the story behind 'I know'?

Brian Molko : I was living in New York, thinking about moving there instead of living somewhere in France where I had been living and where I was feeling very down. I don't talk a lot of my private life, but it's very well known and very 'public domain' that I was in a relationship during that time but it didn't work. We really needed to take some time off. So I was in that big city and didn't know anybody. I lost my home, my family and I fell into a very deep depression. We had decided not to talk to each other but I couldn't bear it anymore. I remember I picked up a phone in some phonebooth in Broadway and called this person and said "see, I know I'm not supposed to be calling you right now, but I really need to talk to you". The song is part of the conversation we had over the phone, there's a lot of guilt in that song. Blind, included in Meds, is a somewhat alike song. The end of a relationship is kind like death. You have a life with someone and just suddendly, everything stops. The saddest part is that the world goes on and people go on minding their own business, without knowing the paint you feel. It's very interesting for an author to write about that.

General CommentThis song helps em in my current situation. I fell in love with my best friend, and things evolved, we had sex and I expected commitment from it all because I felt we were together but she was so confused on things and said she wasn't ready for a relationship yet we kept having sex and this song just kinda helps me out. I feel he is talking about a person who would do things with him sexually and be close to him but she wouldn't commit, she wouldn't be with him in a relationship, she loved the sin but not the sinner, that's how I feel about this song.

General CommentI love this song. It fits my life at the moment. Everything is sort of wrong and you know it but you really dont know why its wrong or how to fix it. And really there is no point worrying because theres basically nothing you can do about it anyway.

General Commentits like a self- hate song, but also blaming over people around you, blaiming them for why u feel so down. know, the past will catch you up as you run faster
I know, the last in line is always called a bastard
You cant get away from what youve done, and others wont let u foeget it.
