Come burning...are you going to burn with me
Won't you come burning...the world is watching
All the king's men riding hard
And their horses foaming
And if they were to catch us we'd be set ablaze

Burn!

Won't you come burning...all the dissident ones
Come walk the line and you will burn with me
Witches yes, slaves never...and still I speak
A heretic amongst you...don't you let me live too long

Burn!

Could you imagine the pain
Why would my countrymen let me down
They're bearing witness just to save their skin
That this might keep them from burning
They'd sell their mothers just to save their skin
That this might keep them alive

The marks I'm bearing are oh so deep
My will ingrained at birth
To flood true darkness with light and reverse
You'll see my covenant to keep

Your judgement in the hands of the most inept
Condemn those similar to burn with me
But the night is young...I'm also feeling very bold
I think I'll do some burning of my own

General CommentWell, the meaning is pretty straightforward - the burning of witches. Although I think it's not literally about witches, but about oppression of otherwise-minded in general. Like how those with power try to subdue people who disagree with them and how many people choose to just stand by and watch the "burning" even though they agree with the "witch".

    P.S.
    Great guitar solos IMO.

General CommentI don't think this song is about hunting down and burning actual witches but it is about a figurative "witch hunt." It's some sort of religious authority hunting down the narrator and his kind who are practicing something that goes against the establishment. The narrator can't bring himself to believe something that he doesn't, "My will ingrained at birth." He also makes numerous mentions of the motives on the part of the religious majority. They are trying to burn the heretics in hopes that it will "save their skins" and keep them from burning in hell themselves. But in spite of being the hunted, the narrator is prepared to fight to the death, "I'll do some burning of my own."

General CommentThe meaning of the song is pretty clear. Its about a pagan/witch who's still fateful to the old gods unlike his fellow countrymen who are converting to Christianity "just to save their skin".
