"Time For Mercy" as written by and Jann Arden Richards....
Why does everybody hurt
Every bitter sickening word breaks my heart
Why can't anybody hear
When the thunder disappears and the sun breaks free
It's time for mercy
It's time for mercy
Mercy me
Every color every shade
Everyone an angel made from the breath of God
I'm your mother I抦 your son
I am not the other one that you love to hate
It's time for mercy
It's time for mercy
Pretty please...
When the fires all burn down
When they open up the ground and put you in
I'll lay flowers on your grave
It's a little too late for sorry now
It's time for mercy
It's time for mercy
It's time for mercy
Mercy me

The song is a pretty basic interpretation. She is talking about the grief and sorrow over loosing someone close to you after having a falling out with them.

First verse is saying how hurtful words are said and they affect relationships and put a strain on them. Then when everything is better and poeple have made up people are still hurting because you can't let it go inside - what's done is never forgotten.

Then it goes on to say "when the fires all burn down" which symbolizes when all of it is said and done and it's all over with and when they lay your body to rest, I'll go to the grave to pay my respects however I cannot take back what I have said - "It's too late for sorry now."

"it's tmie for mercy" means that enough is enough. when it rains it pours and all she wants is to get through it and for it all to be over. It's hard to deal with the guilt of loosing someone while on such bad terms with them.

Beautiful song. Really poignant theme. I am absolutely in love with it.
