"Alternate Route To Vulcan Street" as written by Huw Bunford, Cian Ciaran, Dafydd Ieuan, Guto Pryce and Gruff Rhys....
Sometimes I ponder
What if the Caspian sea
Should merger
Over my shoulder
With Irish lakes
And Seoul suburbia

Abandon ship
Lift me up
High aloft to peace

I didn't know
That you would take it
To heart

I didn't know
That is would break us
Apart this way

Too much
Too soon

Good bye
Yeah, yeah

General CommentSuch a beautiful and yet depressing song. I particularly like the "Goodbye" part.

General Comment"The title is an actual road sign, right near the Canadian border outside Detroit. We'd taken a wrong turning in the van. It's quite a striking sign to be confronted with. It has no Trekkie connotations at all: it's very much of this earth. The music was written by Cian and Bunf on samplers late at night, and the rest of us played or sung over it. I think its one of the best sounding pieces on the album. It's a song about impending deluge – it could be applied to global warming." -Gruff Rhys
