Desperation cuts all ties
Between dreamers dreams and long goodbyes
If patience teaches nothing
Even stormy rivers can run dry
I'll stay right here until the last
What's so untrustworthy about that
As honest motives replace lack of honsety
Sacrifice replaces selfishness in me
FORGIVENESS... BELIEVING...
THESE HOPES JUST KEEP ON LEAVING
JUST THINK HOW CLOSE WE CAME THAT DAY
PUT ALL THAT'S PAST BEHIND US
AND LET NOTHING ELSE REMIND US
OF JUST HOW CLOSE WE CAME THAT DAY

General CommentDesperation is a song about never looking back. It's not about a person or a belief, but about a feeling and about a moment.

Desperation is something that I never want to experience again, and hopefully I'll never have to. After making it through, I realized just how close I had come to losing everything.

After that, the damaging feeling was dead to me. Desperation became nothing more than a passing moment that had long sinced passed.

in case you're curious as to what blaine yells at the end of this song, I'm pretty it's this:
    forgive my life,
my hopes, my dreams fall short

this is a fun one to sing along to because of all the repitition.
