Peace takes a taxi to the underground.
I want to love the world but I don't know how.
I'll blame it on the d.j. spinning all the fast songs, ain't playing anything that I can sing along.

If you know the words try to sing along.
When you get the beat, grab a hammer, bang a gong.
'Cause you don't gotta fight or make yourself belong to be a revolution.

If you want to learn to play the "rock guitar,"
Throw down your guns, you're gonna be a star.
You gotta begin with who you know you are to be a revolution.
The time is right to cross that line and let love find a way.

So if you know the words then try to sing along.
When you get the beat, grab a hammer, bang a gong.
'Cause you don't gotta fight or make yourself belong to be a revolution.

I think this song is saying that to change the world, you can't just sit on the sidelines. If you want things to change, you've got to jump in, join the crowd of people who ARE trying to change the world. Nothing happens if nothing is being done!

OH MY GOODNESS PEOPLE!! There's a really big mistake in this version of the lyrics! its not

'cause you gotta fight or make yourself belong'

its 'Cause you don't got to fight or makeyourself belong'.

For me the important message in this song is that it isn't about going along with the crowd - the thing about being a revolutionist is that you don't have to try and fit in with everybody else

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
