Those days of love are gone
Our time is through
Still I burn on and on
All of my life
Only for you

From now
Until forever
And ever my darling
Forever

You will always be the only one
You will always be the only one

As long as I shall live
I'll hold you dear
And I will reminisce
Of our love all through the years

From now
Until forever
And ever my darling
Forever

You will always be the only one
You will always be the only one

If you should ever need me
Unfailingly, I will return to your arms
And unburden your heart
And if you should remember
That we belong together
Never be ashamed
Call my name
Tell me I'm the one you treasure

Forever
And ever, my darling
Forever
You will always be the only one
You will always be the only one
You will always be the only one
Forever
You will always be the only one
Forever
You will always be the only one
Forever
You will always be the only one
Forever
You will always be the only one
Forever
You will always be the only one

Maybe this song is just too overly characteristic of the genre to be very popular. It is still the best Mariah Carey song I ever heard. Her voice is perfect for it and whoever was in charge got the music down perfectly. She should be very proud of this one.

Sure beats the heck out of anything Celine Dion ever did.

Still to this day my fav Mariah Craey song.

It just says that even though we are no longer together i will never change the way i feel about you or forget the love we once shared; if you ever change your mind, i will be right here waiting.

This song came out the year I was born which is 1996 it talks about how even though you break up with someone your feelings will never change and if by some chance they come back you'll be waiting

To me this song is about a naive young girl who lost her innocents to a crush in hopes that they would be together forever. But we all know thats a young naive girls fantasy. By the lyrics of this song we can see this guy has moved on. but the young girl is still stuck on him shes in a fantasy that only exist in her head that her in this guy will one day be together in reality. But until then shes stuck in this fantasy that theres a forever for them. But the audience can see through all this. Its clearly a sad song directed to naive girls. Love the essence of this song. ♥♡♥♡♥

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
