"In Your Time" as written by and Bob Seger....
In your time
The innocence will fall away
In your time
The mission bells will toll
All along
The corridors and river beds
There'll be sign
In your time

Towering waves
Will crash across your southern cape
Massive storms
Will reach your eastern shores
Fields of green
Will tumble through your summer days
By design
In your time

Feel the wind
And set yourself the bolder course
Keep your heart
As open as a shrine
You'll sail the perfect line

And after all
The dead ends and the lessons learned
After all
The stars have turned to stone
There'll be peace
Across the great unbroken void
All benign
In your time
You'll be fine
In your time

General CommentI didn't say "Bob Seger sucks", he is a really good singer and composer instead, Against The Wind is my favorite from him.

General CommentThis song is poignant and powerful. I have, on three distinct occasions, sent this song to friends who needed to be shown a new path to life. The first was having a major issue with drugs. I wish that I could say he beat it, but he is currently going to rehab and one can always hope. The second was a dear friend who was having very serious thoughts and several attempts at suicide. She has since recovered from her then-undiagnosed manic depression, and now is living a much more balanced and cheerful life. This was not of course the result solely from the song, but I like to think it helped matters. The third was a friend who, while not outwardly, was having a personal identity crisis. He wasn't quite sure who or what he was. The song, he told me, touched him very deeply, enough that he sent a very long and complex email to me, discussing his issues. I talked him through it, and he is now at peace with himself. I love this song because it can touch so many people so profoundly, and is IMHO one of Seger's best.

General CommentI've always felt this was an awesome and deeply moving song, but when he gets to the part "there will be sign" I'm left a little confused. Why didn't he say "there will be a sign"? A trivial thing perhaps but noticeable.

General CommentMy husband, Paul was a huge Seger fan. After he passed away, this song came came to me in a dream. I hadn't really paid that much attention to the lyrics. I listened to it when I got up. It was like a message to me from him to go on with my life. That 8 years ago. Still gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it.
