"After Tonight" as written by Mariah Carey, Diane Eve Warren and David W. Foster....
I look at you looking at me
Feels like a feeling meant to be
And as your body moves with mine
It's like I'm lifted out of time

And time again
Patiently I've waited
For this moment to arrive

After tonight
Will you remember
How sweet and tenderly
You reached for me
And pulled me closer
After you go
Will you return to love me
After tonight begins to fade

I feel your touch caressing me
This feeling's all I'll ever need
With every kiss from your sweet lips
It's like I'm drifting out of time

Alone will tell
If you feel the way I feel
When I look in your eyes

After tonight (after tonight)
Will you remember
How sweet and tenderly
You reached for me and pulled-me closer
After you go (after you go)
Will you return to love me
After the night becomes the day

Time
And time and time again
So patiently I've waited
For this moment to arrive

After tonight
Will you remember
How sweet and tenderly
You reached for me
And pulled me closer
After you go
Baby will you return to love me
After the night becomes the day
After tonight begins to fade

General CommentThis song is so romantic! I think it means that her and her guy are stuck in a moment and she hopes that after the moment is over, he will come back to love her!

General CommentI think this song is her getting back with a lover, and the feelings that she is going thru, and her not being sure that he will be there tomorrow when the sunrises.

General CommentGiving into someone and your own temptations can be a great feeling, but this song shows the fear you can have if that person never comes back to love you again/if they just used you for one night.

General CommentI agree with miss opinion. It's something awesome to give in to temptation, when you know it's not completely right...but I know the feeling of thinking: was it a one-night thing, doesn't he care at all about me?...will he remember?...And it's so hurting to realise that what you feared was what ends up hapenning, with the void that it means and the undenieable fact that you've been...used.

General CommentI think this song is the second part of a trilogy. Mariah tells a story between three songs on three completely different albums. First, MY ALL (from BUTTERFLY) describes how much she needs and wants to be with a past love. AFTER TONIGHT (from RAINBOW) describes getting her wish and hoping that when the sunrises, he'll still want to be with her and that it wasn't a one-night stand. Finally, I ONLY WANTED (from CHARMBRACELET) describes how the man left her and abandoned her.

Mariah has never mentioned that these three songs go together, but I think it's perfect. They all have that same sense of longing and yearning with the spanish-influenced melody and guitar. Absolutely brilliant and gorgeous.

General CommentThis is so sweet, makes me drift.
basically it is giving it to him
then she wonders if he will come
back & it wont b a one night stand.
