"You Lied" as written by and Billie Joe/wright Iii Armstrong....
You gotta problem you just can't hide
Compulsive habits that never seem to die
Your breath is taking up all the air
Your teeth are rotting to black holes in your head

Well reality is due
What you say just can't be true
When the story's stretched
And so far fetched
That you're lacking an excuse
You lied

Your mother allowed you just one white lie
But now she's dead and she left you with a problem
Pinocchio has pierced your tongue
Your nose is growing into the third dimension

Well reality is due
What you say just can't be true
When the story's stretched
And so far fetched
That you're lacking an excuse
You lied

Oh, you lied

Well reality is due
What you say just can't be true
When the story's stretched
And so far fetched
That you're lacking an excuse
You lied

General CommentThis is a really cool song, and the meaning is pretty obvious. It's just about someone who lies all the time. Lies are gay.

General CommentI love it when he's talking about the liar's mother and he just goes "but now she's dead" so deadpan, it's fantastic.

General Commentwow ive gotten into green day recently, and i started out with dookie. i thought it was too good to be true. ive kept on expecting at least one of their cds to kinda suck, but it hasnt come yet. shenanigans must be one of the best. id hafta say their worst, if youd call it that, was warning,

General CommentReally? I thought Warning was really good. But Dookie is probably my favorite. Anyway, it's pretty obvious what this song is about. You just sometimes know when someone is lying because the story seems almost impossible. The person stretched the truth. This song kicks ass.
