"Woman" as written by and John Lennon....
(For the other half of the sky)

Woman
I can hardly express
My mixed emotions at my thoughtlessness
After all, I´m forever in your debt
And woman
I will try to express
My inner feeling and thankfulness
For showing me the meaning of success

Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Woman
I know you understand
The little child inside the man
Please remember my life is in your hands

And woman
Hold me close to your heart
However distant, don't keep us apart
After all it is written in the stars

Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Well, woman
Please let me explain
I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain
So let me tell you again and again and again

I love you, yeah, yeah
Now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah
Now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah
Now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah

General CommentI can't believe I'm only the sixth person to comment on this most beautiful of songs. Every man that has ever been in love should be able to relate to John this song. It's that fantastic feeling of realizing the girl of your dreams is your saviour and it is because of them you are the person you are today. Beautiful song, chokes me up everytime.

General CommentI love this song. It is a beautiful and honest ballad that John wrote for the woman that he loves. If only all men could be that honest. Just beautiful. :)

General Commentyes! It was written for Yoko! But "for the other half of the sky" as well!

John once said that "Woman should be obscene and not heard".

He felt guilty, realizing that his MOTHER gave birth to him! So he wrote this song for us women! Maybe apologizing for what he had said.

General Commentim new on here, but, i'm amazed so little people have commented on this song. I love Love this song, along with the rest of John's songs. It should be special to all woman. I remember at the start of the video for this, he says this is for Yoko but all Women as well. I think that it is so cool he thought so highly of women.

General CommentOne of the most beautiful love songs written in the pop era. I remember what I was doing when I learned that Lennon was murdered. This song was released not long afterwards. At the time I didn't think much of the song (I was only 13), but as I grew older I better understood its meaning.

It is sad to realize that a great poet was silenced when he had so much more to say to us.

General CommentThis song sounds like a beautiful 50's song. It reminds me of Back to the Future for some reason. I always knew this song but I never knew it was by John Lennon which was wierd. But then I heard it on the Lennon Legend album and wow, great song
