"Rise" as written by Michael Colton Dixon and Kevin M. Griffin....
You are the sun, I am the flame
You are the blood, I am the same
We are the love that rises again
They are the snake that bites on your veins

We are not chained to the wheel

You are the tear, I have no fear
You are so strange, I feel the same
Sorceress mind, we ride again

We are not chained to the wheel, to the wheel

It's the way that you feel
It's the truth in your eye
You got wings upon your back and you can fly

It's the way that you feel
It's the truth in your eye
'Cause you're up against the world and still you rise
And still you rise

You are alive and high in my dreams
You are the stars that mystify me
And you are the wolf that frightens the thief
And you are the voice that they disbelieve

We are not chained to the wheel

And you are the spark that sets us all free

We are not chained to the wheel, to the wheel

It's the way that you feel
It's the truth in your eye
You got wings upon your back and you can fly

It's the way that you feel
It's the truth in your eye
'Cause you're up against the world and still you rise
And still you rise

Whoa, baby

It's the way that you feel
It's the truth in your eye
You got wings upon your back and you can fly

It's the way that you feel
It's the truth in your eye
'Cause you're up against the world and still you rise
And still you rise
Still you rise
Still you rise

General CommentWOOOOOOOOOOW! What a Killer Song! Just Love It!
Amazing Guitar Riff, The Cult is still the biggest Rock N Roll Band who's surviving after 7 years brake up,what Ian Astbury said once, "7 years in druggs, 7 years in Tibbet:)" , but sometimes, sometimes the druggs do work:)
The Cult Rising High and still Kick ass!!!!

General CommentThis is a song that brings up images of weirdness. It is definitely worth a listen if you want something completely different.

General Commenti think this song is about deep-thinking people, those shy people in society who get up everyday & face the world and understand the world & see the stupidity and lack of abstract thought in the rest of society. This song is about those who stray from the herd eventhough they feel strange and are criticized for being different -'we are not chained to the wheel'.

General CommentCurehead has a brillant point, knowing the lyrics and thinking about this. I will agree with Curehead. It's how i feel in society that's why. Or maybe there is self-conscious in the lyrics. Another side of someboy 'Rising'

General CommentI agree 100% with curehead and ultimatemusic. Great song and a great description of those of us who feel we don't get our worth, since a larger part of the world is unable to realize the depth of perception one can truly acheive.
