Would you like to sit and talk to me
About the way things change so
Suddenly
When your senses come and the feeling
Goes?
Can you remember feeling much
Too close?

Stop your hands from shaking.
Look at me.
Are your senses racing endlessly
Tracing
Past impressions? So were mine
Have you ever been used
Or will this be the first time?

It's come so clear to me
Light fuse and get away
No gain, no pain
It's a fatal game
And the true lose everything

I can see
What trust and loyalty have done
For me
Falling miles from the mark
With a thirst for revenge
And a dangerous heart

I've tried to wash from memory
Feelings of betrayal and the incidents
That plague me since I lost my sense
Of innocence

A history of changes now I'm loving
Now I'm losing keeps me constantly
In fear of hearing "I can't see where
This is going"

You lie alone with the memory
Feeling the ceiling and walls closing
In on
Your conscience, my ally
The guilt, your affliction
From preying on praise as you fed
An attention addiction

Someone told me
Light fuse and get away
No gain, no pain
And when it's lust to dust you can
Crawl from the wreckage

I can see
What trust and loyalty have done
For me
Lying bleeding in the dark
With a thirst for revenge
And a dangerous heart

It's come so clear to me
Light fuse and get away
No gain, no pain
It's a fatal game
And the true lose everything

I can see
What trust and loyalty have done
For me
Falling miles from the mark
With a thirst for revenge
And a dangerous heart

K, on the When Dream and Day Reunites Song by Song documentry review, Kevin Moore said it is about using someone for sex, but it's not from any one partically view, and it's not about using them because the person has no feelings, but about being afraid to get attached in the off chance they might get hurt. That's what the line "No Pain, No Gain" means.

Im not sure what the song is actually about but from what i gather it tells the story of a girl who gets into a relationship with a guy who is jsut out for sex. She becomes emotionally attached to him and feels betrayed when he leaves her after getting what he wants.

I read that Mike Portnoy said this song was about Kevin Moore's personal experience, so I think what you said is sort of correct, but Kevin was the one being used.

I've not even been in a relationship before and i'm 15 ffs, and this song is to me, WHY! 'cause i'm a decent guy and everythin but get fucked about all the time and it's started turning me into a guy like this "I can see what trust and loyalty have done for me falling miles from the mark with a thirst for revenge and a dangerous heart"

exactly what's happenin to me =) dream theater are a band you can relate to, reminds me, the difference between songs/bands you can relate to and emo songs/bands is that in my opinion emo stuff CAUSES those feelings and makes you think you're in that situation (which is why i ain't an emo :D) and bands like dream theater take things that happen to alot of people and actually give you a song you can pick lines outta to relate to =] (yeah i actually thought of that one in the bath...O.O)

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
