"Grazes" as written by Liam Coverdale-howe, Chris Corner and Ian Pickering....
So did the sympathy for me start to fade?
When your conscience is down
A fix paranoia scars when I need all
So did you ever see the north get so grey?
Swallows me up,
hollows the language in my last lungs
So which fucking ape is on you today?
That's what my head wakes up and says when I crumble

I'm the aim
To suffocate and blame
You gave less
Than you tried to possess
All the greed
Is nothing that I need
If you can't face the grazes

I can't face the grazes
I cannot contain this
I can't fake the traces
I can't face the grazes

So the fever that I got stole my name
It opened me up, twisted my bones
Now I'm nothing
I knew the second time that I saw your face
The city lit up was bleeding its gifts
Now I'm sinking
Just another lonely box beneath her bed
A mark on her back, a bruise in her head
Had she fallen, had she fallen
That is what she wished she had said
Two traces of time were riding the spine
Was it worth it?

I'm the aim
To suffocate and blame
You gave less
Than you tried to possess
All the greed
Is nothing that I need
If you can't face the grazes

I can't face the grazes
I cannot contain this
I can't fake the traces
I can't face the grazes
I can't face the grazes
I can't face the grazes
I can't face the grazes...

General CommentThis song is definitely about a break up....
I think facing the grazes means facing reality.
You can kind of graze through life, or through the day or what not, not thinking or feeling to much about things...just getting by.

    when he says

So did the sympathy for me start to fade (talking to the girl, did you get bored of me? fall out of love)
When your conscience is down (when you arent thinking about me because I think about myself enough), a fix paranoia scars when I need all (he is admitting he is selfish, and paranoid she cheated on him)
So did you ever see the north get so grey (have u ever seen me so sad?)
Swallows me up, hollows the language in my last lows (this guilt is eating me alive, I understand why you went with him, I have nothing to say, no arguments to make)

So which fucking ape is on you today (who is fucking you now?)
That what's my head wakes up and says when I crumble (that thought makes me break down)

(ex gf to guy singing the song)
Im the aim to suffocate and blame (you try and blame me cuz its easier then admitting you were wrong)
You gave less than you tried to possess (you were selfish)
All the greed is nothing that I need (I never asked for much)
if you can't face the grazes (you cant face reality)

I can't face the grazes (I cant stand my reality, fucked up our relationship...)
    I cannot contain this
I can't fake the traces ( I cant pretend this isnt my fault)
    I can't fake the grazes

So the fever that I got stole my name (I chose other things over you...maybe he means drugs here)
It opened me up it twisted my bones now I'm nothing (it ruined me... )
I knew the second time that I saw your face (guilt- remembering- running away from reality)
The city lit up it's bleeding its gifts (so much temptation to go back to old ways)
Now I'm sinking (this isnt what I want)

Just another lonely box beneath her bed (she has prob gotten over me)
A mark on her back a bruise in her head (now Im just like all of her asshole ex boyfriends)
Had she fallen, had she fallen (she prob cheated on him/given up)
That is what she wished she had said (but she thought I wouldnt understand)
To traces of time was riding her spine (she wanted to hold of for me, but she couldnt wait forever)
Was it worth it (to cheat on me? or he means to give up on her)

you gave less than you tried to possess
all the greatest nothing that I need,

General CommentSeems to me it's about a broken up relationship, which he was left cold in.. and she moved on. "Which fucking ape is on you today?"
It makes sense to me. But it's probably about drugs.

General Commentfossilhunter -- this is what I think:

Only aim is to suffocate and blame.
You gave less than you tried to possess.
All the greed is nothing that I need,
if you can't face the grazes.

(I don't know what the first line is, but 'only aim' is my best guess).
I sounds alot like the guy is overly suspicious and possessive and jealous of his partner (suffocate and blame). Whilst this person is demanding of the others' time, they aren't very generous with there own (gave less than you tried to possess, all the greed is nothing that I need).

And the stuff about grazes... no idea.

General CommentI am pretty sure that the title of the song is "Crazes" instead of "Grazes".
I have seen it named as both so curiosity led me to Amazon. At Amazon.com the track is listed as "Crazes".
It makes a LOT more sense, doesn't it?
