"Jesus Is Just Alright" as written by and Arthur Reynolds....
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo

Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright, oh yeah
Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright

I don't care what they may say
I don't care what they may do
I don't care what they may say
Jesus is just alright, oh yeah
Jesus is just alright

Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo

Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright, oh yeah
Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright

I don't care what they may know
I don't care where they may go
I don't care where they may go
Jesus is just alright, oh yeah!

Jesus, he's my friend
I said Jesus, he's my friend
He took me by the hand
He let me far from this land
Jesus, he's my friend!

Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright, oh yeah
Jesus is just alright with me
Jesus is just alright

I don't care what they may say
I don't care what they may do
I don't care what they may say
Jesus is just alright, oh yeah

General CommentThe slide guitarist explained how they were talking one day and thought to themselves whats the point in being an athiest. Whats the point in thinking you'll die and thats it! Not what you would think it would be about from the title.

General CommentThe Byrds did this song too. I like Doobie's version better. Back in the seventies I went to a Doobie concert and surprisingly this song was the crowd favorite.

General CommentPretty simple lyrics and message - ta to Kriller.

Great music and vocal. Their best song for me.

General CommentWhee! My first post on the site is the first on a popular classic rock song! Dance in queer little circles! But tht's not all...I can't believe I'm the first post on this song. One of the few DB tracks not to start out with a signature chunked riff (maybe a bit of a stretch.) Also one of the best to show off their funk side with a Pink Floyd-ish bridge, save the voice. The overall sound doesn't resemble it, but it just reminds me of an up-tempo Gilmour. Someone else please give Jesus a little loving...

General CommentMaybe that's why they included the lyric "I don't care what they may say" who knows...

General CommentI'm really not surprised that this song was the crowd favorite. I always believed it was the most well-known song by this group.

It's a fun melody, but the lyrics are pretty cheesy. A bit over-rated.
