"Daughter" as written by and Marcus Tobias Dahlstroem Christian Thell Lindskog....
You kissed me on my cheek goodbye
But I didn't mean
Crazy it may seem
But to me you were never ever unclean
I know you know I am but even if it's slow
You're walking away
You think you are here to stay
Although your pride have grown
Legs taking you away
I wonder for how long you can take
That image you fake

Fingers in your ears
My lips are just moving
You don't want to hear

Taking and breaking the things
That is you and I
You ask for a goodbye
Want this part of you to die
Why do you have to wear that make-up?
I see your thoughts are screaming in my face
Shut up

You and I unseparable
Don't you know
I didn't come here to judge
You'll be free and I will make you whole
Those wounds must hurt
Let me clean you let me get rid of your bull
I'll make you full
That deep down emptiness I'll just blow away
Because no matter what they say
You will never be alone with me anyway
To feel pain ain't a sin
But it's when you're trying to cover it up
You hurt me within
I'll take one step
Can you take one too?

General CommentSounds to me like this song is supposed to be God talking to the lyricist, telling him that he has and continues to forgive him of all his sins. He also stresses that regardless of his attempts to block God out of his life, he untimately comes to the realization that God and himself are and always have been inseparable.

    -very truthfull message-

    any different opinions?

General CommentI agree with acerbicheart. I think this song is really a beautiful message of how God feels for all of us. "to me you were never ever unclean". no matter how much we sin, God sees us as His children, and when He looks at us, He sees us bathed in Jesus's blood. "I know you know I am, but, even if it's slow, you're walking away." God's saying that He knows this guy believes in Him and knows He's there, but God also sees that this guy is walking away. Maybe slowly, but he's still walking away. "your pride has grown legs taking you away" He's talking about how this guy's pride is taking him slowly away from God. "I wonder for how long you can take that image you fake". I like that part, because i go to school with so many people that love to say they're christian and let everyone know that they're believers, but they don't really. it drives me nuts. anyway, this guy's pride is getting in the way of his ability to hear God's voice because the pride is plugging up his ears. " I hear your thoughts that are screaming in my face, 'shut up, shut up, shut up!'." The thoughts that this guy is having are basically telling God to shut up, because he wants to listen to himself. And the last part of the song needs no interpretation. Man, this song is beautiful. "those wounds must hurt. Let me clean you", "to feel pain ain't a sin, but it's when you're trying to cover it up that you hurt me within". I don't know... it's just beautiful. and to know that there really IS a God that feels this way for someone like me is awesome. better than that, even.
