hey honey what you trying to say
as i stand here
don't you walk away
and the world comes tumbling down
hand in hand in a violent life
making love on the edge of a knife
and the world comes tumbling down
and it's hard
for me to say
and it's hard
for me to stay
i'm going down
to be by myself
i'm going back
for the good of my health
and there's one thing
i couldnt do
sacrifice myself to you
sacrifice
baby baby i just can't see
just what you mean to me
i take my aim and i fake my words
i'm just your long time curse
and if you walk away
i can't take it
but that's the way that you are
and that's the things that you say
but now you've gone too far
with all the things you say
get back to where you come from
i can't help it
under the april skies
under the april sun
sun grows cold
sky gets black
and you broke me up
and now you won't come back
shaking hand, life is dead
and a broken heart
and a screaming head
under the april sky

this song pretty much sums up my last relationship. he kept trying to assure me that he was okay with my late night phone calls, that he was okay with my feeling that i needed him, but i could never trust him/"sacrifice myself to you". he was still messing around with girls. so i walked off. now we're trying to be friends, and i still want to feel insecure sometimes. It all started in April.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
