This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I was out the other day
And I saw you in your big black car
And I was waving as you were passing
'Cause I know who you are
You had this look, that of an angel
It was such a bad disguise
Did you think for second I would not realize?
Tripping hard falling down onto the ground
'Cause I can't stand up and I can't fall down
'Cause I'm somewhere in the middle of this
I was out the other night
And I saw you so we had a fight
It was late and I was lonely
And it's such a long way home
So I asked you if you'd join me
For a single last call drink
So you turned and bought us 2
And you didn't even blink
You had this look, that of an angel
It was such a bad disguise
When you drink, it makes you angry
When I drink, I want you more and more and more
Tripping hard, falling down onto the ground
'Cause I can't stand up and I can't fall down
'Cause I'm somewhere in the middle of this
Well, I find it hard
I always tried to find the sane life
But I don't like the way things are
And I keep falling to my knees
Somewhere in the middle of this
And I saw you in your big black car
And I was waving as you were passing
'Cause I know who you are
You had this look, that of an angel
It was such a bad disguise
Did you think for second I would not realize?
Tripping hard falling down onto the ground
'Cause I can't stand up and I can't fall down
'Cause I'm somewhere in the middle of this
I was out the other night
And I saw you so we had a fight
It was late and I was lonely
And it's such a long way home
So I asked you if you'd join me
For a single last call drink
So you turned and bought us 2
And you didn't even blink
You had this look, that of an angel
It was such a bad disguise
When you drink, it makes you angry
When I drink, I want you more and more and more
Tripping hard, falling down onto the ground
'Cause I can't stand up and I can't fall down
'Cause I'm somewhere in the middle of this
Well, I find it hard
I always tried to find the sane life
But I don't like the way things are
And I keep falling to my knees
Somewhere in the middle of this

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
I always thought the middle was between him knowing if he really wanted the relationship back--as he emotionally (and probably physically) loves her and wants her--but mentally he sees "her bad disguise" (with "the look of an angel"). The song is phenomenally catchy, with great lyrics that so many of us can relate to. JR and Dishwalla are brilliant musicians and lyricists.
I think this song is kinda 'bitter',like...he doesn't want to show his feelings for this girl, but he can't help wanting her so badly.it happens to me.
Got a similar situation, only its not that i don't want to show, its that its hard to do it and even more so i don't know if its right to do it in the current situation i am in.<br /> I want her pretty bad and i am good friends with her but i don't know if she sees or maybe even saw me like i see her. I keep thinking that i let my window of opportunity pass me by.
I agree~!
Basically i agree w/ what "cuteLSD" said....but i think it's more about the guy not wanting to like the girl as much as he does, but he can't help how he feels. As the song says..."when i drink i want you more and more and more", alcohol is liquid courage and "what a man says drunk, he has thought sober". So, when the man in the song drinks, he lets his guard down and let's his feelings come forth b/c he has no inbitions, and doesn't care if it's right or wrong, he just know's how he feels. (sucks girls doesn't it! Boys just get scared.......)
i have this problem with most of the men in my life....i have a good thing and it goes bad and then i totally relate to the lyric "when i drink i want you more and more and more" sad isn't it? that love can go down like that or even a crush
I kind of feel what you all are saying. I know what it's like to want someone that bad. Ever since the first time I heard this song, I've related it to this girl that I've fallen for. I know I can't have her, and I don't want to like her as much as I do, but I can't help it. It kills me, and I can totally relate my struggle to much of this song.
I think you've all got it wrong, I say this because of the lines: "It was such a bad disguise" and "I saw you so we had a fight". Personally, I think it's a post-breakup song, He and this girl had a relationship, and she broke it off, and acts like it was nothing, and it hurts him because he really wants to be with her again, but she won't let him. He keeps trying to be nice and kind to her, to win her back, but she won't have any of it.
Yea, post breakup song like everyone says...boy has feelings the girl doesn't...yea yea yea. Like a million other songs.
But I do agree withthose of you who brought up the alcohol part. that's what makes this such a great tune cuz this subject is rarely brought up, about a guy letting his feelings out when he drinks and a girl who drinks to forget.
But I can relate yea. I drink like a fish and when I drink it is a lot easier to say what's on your mind to girls, whether it's the truth or not. It sucks too. I remember one night I got completely plastered and e-maild an ex saying how much I still loved the girl. I woke u the next morning thinking, oh shit what did I do...it was cool though, she appreciated it and it meant a lot.
So oh well.
This song is so beautiful, but these lyrics are so hard to interpret, the hardest I've ever come in contact with...it's like I'm stuck right in the middle with them, heh. ...'cause I'm surely somewhere in the middle of a thing like this, I can feel it when the song plays...
this is just my two cents, t o me this song is about lust, i just think the lyrics scream lust, when i drink i want you more and more and more so it's obviously a physical obsession, cuz everyone is a little outta control when they're inebriated (that's drunk for all you ignoramsi out there) trippin hard and falling hard onto the ground is is to me that he tried to get with her but messed that up and when they go out drinking that's another point towards lust, he's trying to get her guard down by getting her drunk
this is a post-breakup song. Definitely.
