"Last Ever Lone Gunman" as written by and Lightbody/mcclelland/quinn....
This heart break is never ending
It's like it never happened
A fall from grace is close
Why not speed it up?

I've never been so angry
To find out that I failed
It didn't even work
I have to make amends
I shot him from the window
The world just held it's breath

And I made my escape
As if no-one could see
I took off in my pick-up
Kids screaming in the back seat

They heard the shots too
And screamed cause that's their way
I do it alright in my own way
We've all got bigger plans
But when it comes down to it

Mine might save the world
At least for one more day
Don't judge me from your sofas
On TV things don't ever come across so true
They're made up in your minds

General CommentMaybe this song is about Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who Shot John F Kennedy??
    Or maybe thats too obvious??

General CommentYeah, When it's all over we still have to clear up was a bit of a let down when i first bought it compared to Final Straw but this song is pretty decent.

    General CommentAgreed, Tamu

It sounds a lot like Lee Harvey Oswald because it talks about a pick-up truck and shooting from a window. And I've heard that Oswald committed the crime because he wanted to impress a lady friend of his... unless I have that mixed up with someone else.

Anyway, I think it's an analogy to doing something passive aggressively after a break up too. The heart break in the beginning stanza could be the introduction to his motivation, then to him doing something (possibly to the other person) after things had settled a bit and/or after his Plan A failed. Then how other people react to his actions. But, I've only known the song for like 5 minutes. >.<
