"She's So High" as written by and Tal Bachman....
She's blood, flesh and bones
No tucks or silicone
She's touch smell sight taste and sound
But somehow I can't believe that anything should happen
I know we're right where I belong and nothing's gonna happen, yeah
Cause she's so high
High above me, she's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
She's so high
High above me
First class, fancy free, she's high society
She's got the best of everything
Why could a guy like me ever really offer?
She's perfect as she can be, why should I even bother, ah ha
Cause she's so high
High above me, she's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
She's so high
High above me
She comes to speak to me
I freeze immediately
Cause what she says sounds so unreal
Cause somehow I can't believe that anything should happen
I know we're right below and nothing's gonna happen
Cause she's so high
High above me, she's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
She's so high
High above me
She's so high
High above me

General CommentI prefer to think of this song as the guy isn't really in a different economic class as this girl, but rather he's putting her on a pedastal. He likes her, so everything she has/does is the best.

And then suddenly at the end of the song it turns out that she does like him, and he can't believe it because he always had always thought that she was too good for him.

I'm probably wrong, but sometimes I like to use my own meanings, rather than the actual meaning of the song =)

My InterpretationI don't think the guy in the song is necessarily of a lower economic background, though it is possible. I think it's more of a social barrier. He likes this girl, but they come from different social groups. However, she's the real thing. She's one of those people who seems to have it all (First class and fancy free, She's high society, She's got the best of everything). He thinks she's perfect, too perfect for him, and thus he's placed her on this pedestol, comparing her to great women and a goddess. However, in reality, she isn't as "high above" him as he thinks she is. She does call to speak to him, and says something that seems urealistic to him. I think this song illustrates what's going on in his head right after she calls. He's in disbelief that his perfect girl has called him up to talk to him. The song gives a feeling such euphoria, that when he says nothing is going to happen, you know he's lying to himself. He just can't believe he's got the girl.

General CommentI heard this song in the film "She's Out of My League" at a preview tonight.

It fits perfectly. The movie and this song is about a geeky guy with low self-esteem that finds himself the object of affection of a total babe.
