guess what i just figured out. i hate every single person. almost every single soul that lives and breathes and dies. we turn away. i hate everyone. we are above. the entire human race is so fucking stupid and it’s times like this i can’t go through it. punch your friend out over shotgun. maybe that has meaning. or nina who just ignores me for no goddamned reason. we turn away. i hate everyone. it’s time i say. i hate everyone in this whole world has no brain. and it’s times like this you drive me insane. all the beefcake spoiled obnoxious stubborn sensitive intolerable. superior. i’m above you. i’m better than you. when i don’t like what you said to me. wouldn’t that be so convenient. if i just let you get away with everything that i think is wrong.

I fucking love this song. The first time I heard it, I thought "that's a bit much for me.. too angry." But I've had a day (well it's been building up for a while) where i don't want to see or talk to anyone and i'm just sick of trying to impress and care about everyone. I was already in a weird mood, but listening to this song has brought a little more clarity to my extremely weird mood and i've realized a few things today. And even though it's somewhat of an angry mood, i feel so fucking good.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
