kevin awakes without his clothes
found what he's looking for
checks in the mirror for his face
turning to close the door
sets the alarm for quarter of
turning it off instead

i'm unknown till it's too late
and some day i'll escape

turning the corner up for work
waiting to end the day
checks in his rear view mirror for
someone to ease his pain

i'm unknown till it's too late
and some day i'll escape
now its taking over
i'll be gone forever
pushing all the levels
i'll escape and it will never ever end

kevin is driving far away
leaving it all behind
checks in the rear view mirror for
someone to make him brake
now he is finding what he needs
leaving it all behind
kevin is driving far away
now it'll be all right

i'm unknownn till it's too late
and some day i'll escape
now its taking over
i'll be gone forever
pushing all the levels
i'll escape and it will never ever end

General CommentThis song seems to be the recurrant fantasy of ditching town, pulling up roots, and setting off into the unknown. Kevin's checking of the rearview mirror is quite evidently looking back into his past to see if there is anyone worth staying for. It seems to indicate social displeasure, the realization that ones friends aren't really all that great, and the only way to set out for a better life is to completely get rid of the one you've got.
Perhaps the song implies suicide? It doesn't feel like that dark of a tune. I think it's just about a guy who's ready to move on from a life he's known for a long time in order to make his own mark as an individual, and if it means beaking off friendships because they're holding him back, that's just the price he has to pay.

General CommentI agree but, why does he wake up without his clothes? Maybe he was taken advantage of by his pet Iguana.............
