Black and gray clouds willow in the balance as the sun falls.
Rain plays a heart warming tune, on the pavement.
Emotions stir.
A feeling of warmness, compassion, fullness, I feel at home.
Disguised by surroundings.
As the torn and left in the gutter seek vengeance on their mistreated lives.
As the torn and left in the cold, seek vengeance on mistreated lives.
A silhouette stands still.
A cactus on a warm summer night.
But the rain falls cold and the moon shines bright.
Black as night.
Cold as ice.
Warm as home.
Ready to live.
Stars they shoot.
In a clear.
Across the sky.
As does my time.
Waiting, wanting, feeling, emotion.
Crying, breaking, loving, nothing.
Clouds swallow the moon, and I’m alone, thinking good times, and why'd they go?
Falling down, breaking down parts of me.
Fuck. I need this place to get away from you.

This song is about being a vampire, or creature of the night, for there are many breeds.

You can only come out at night.

    Obviously.

not to be repeatative, but this is one of their other greatests songs (look on Turn the Other Way) and no one has written about it. very gay. The way he screams Dark as Night. Cold as Ice. etc etc is incredable, along with how he sings clouds swallow the moon...... anyway, thats it. write on here, damn you all!

To be honest, I think avenged 7folds lyrics are pretty horrid some of the time, but i like these. They are a real complete band except the lyrics are just meh.

The imagery in this song is pretty cool. It's just an overdose of gothic, dark shit, but it works somehow. And the opening to the song is great. I think maybe its just a reflection on life, all the stuff it involves, in this case a lot of the darker aspects.

yeah, it seems pretty Gothic-overdone, but it's just on the edge of being overdone, so it's just really friggin' awesome

Andthedayswerelonger are you mentaly retarded or do you just not know how to read? A7X has the greatest lyrics of any band today. I am a huge poetry buff and I LOVE words and analyzing songs and stories and shit ( as wierd as that sounds I assure you I'm not a nerd or a freak) and their lyrics are the epitome of perfection. they capture emotion with their words and music in a way that I've never seen (or heard) any band do, ever! Yeah, some musicians have a few songs that can do that but not EVERY SONG. the only ( AND I MEAN THE ONLY) song by a7x where the lyrics leave something to be desired is Thick and Thin. So if it's retardation that's the problem then I can't help you but if it IS a reading problem, then maby try some fucking Hooked on Phonics.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

American Town

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
