I get tired of finding out, that what
you think is given in the best relationships
is just a pile of shit.
Well I get tired of finding out that what you take
for granted is thrown back in your face
sometimes it seems too late.
To educate when there is a national debate, on an
issue that appears to be straight-forward and
you say it's alright, but it's not alright it's not alright.
To ignore is to condone it if you think
about it don't shut up. You might as well be speaking
at the next one nation meeting.
And everytime you have a pointless dickhead relating
another unfunny ignorant joke based on pigment you should say
That belongs in yesterday.
Start today you can say it's not okay, don't go along for the ride
well it's not too late for you to say when they say that it's all right
well it's not alright, it's not alright
Some of my best friends are racist.
I get tired of finding out that what you
take for granted is thrown back in your face.
What a fucking waste.
Please don't feed me that old bullshit of the
whisperings of the soul, you must be dreaming coz
my soul is screaming to shut up you reactionary fuck.

General Commenteven people who arent normally racsist still find racsist jokes funny. if u truly werent rascist u would tell those sort or jokes.

also, its about people (who are usually white) who tell the jokes take for granted the fact that the jokes arnt about them, or that they can tell them in democratic society.

General Commentover 70% of australians are racist -
"don't shut up. You might as well be speaking at the next one nation meeting"
one nation is standing up for these beliefs and this song encourages you to have your say and do what's right

"my soul is screaming to shut up you reactionary fuck." those who are reacting are the "politically correct" who say we cant discriminate in the slightest even tho our own prime minister cuts back as much non-white immigration as possible

"my best friends are arseholes" means those he holds most dear are outspoken about their (pro-australian) beliefs no matter the consequences

General CommentI think you're missing the point StonedGoat, or I'm misinterpreting your words.

    The song is definitely anti-racism

you have to take the lines together:

"To ignore is to condone it if you think
about it don't shut up. You might as well be speaking
at the next one nation meeting."

It means to ignore racism is to condone it, so by not calling people (especially your 'friends') then you should basically be speaking at the next One Nation meet, because by ignoring the racism you're condoning it.

The verse, "Start today you can say it's not okay, don't go along for the ride well it's not too late for you to say when they say that it's all right well it's not alright, it's not alright"

Is the artist talking about when someone makes a racist remark/joke in a social setting, and someone else says "hey, that's not alright" and the person making the racist remark says or someone else in the group says "Lighten up, it's alright" that it's not alright.

The 'start today' line is about not letting it go on for a another second longer, to stand up to this casual racism that people think is 'alright'.

The bits at the end 'Some of my best friends are racist' is a satire of all those people that say 'I'm not racist because some of my best friends are Indians/Asians/Black/Aboriginal/Whatever'

"My best friends are arseholes" means that even though they are racists, they are still his friends (but also arseholes for being racist)

The entire song is a lamenting of the fact that things that are 'given' (like, say, racial equaityl) aren't given at all, that even though someone is a great friend, they have a hideous racist side.

General CommentAwesome song (is that really a surprise from frenzal?)

I think the line "my best friends are arseholes" is refering to the fact that intolerance and hatred go hand in hand and that hating someone for being racist (even though you know they are being idiotic) is just furthering the schism that forms in society.
