"Cloaking" as written by and Charles Torquil Macleod Caroline Banks....
AND EVERYBODY CLOAKING IN AND OUT WORKING FROM THE SAME ADVICE, AND EVERYBODY'S GOT THEIR LIVES TO SHOUT, I DIDN'T LISTEN WHEN THEY GAVE THE PRICE , SO KEEP ON RUNNING FROM THE QUIET LIFE THE SILENCE WASN'T MEANT FOR YOU, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU PUT YOURSELF, YOU'LL FIND THEIR'S NOTHING TO HOLD UP TO

CHORUS

GET UP X 4 , SOLDIER YOU'VE GOT YOUR HEAD SCREWED ON, NO-BODY CHANGED THIS, NO BODY CHANGE THIS ( I CAN MAKE THIS CHANGE, GOTTA MAKE THIS CHANGE)

AND EVERYBODY CLOAKING IN AND OUT WORKING FROM THE SAME ADVICE, AND EVERYBODY'S GOT THEIR LIVES TO SHOUT, I DIDN'T LISTEN WHEN THEY GAVE THE PRICE

CHORUS X 4

General CommentThis song is bloody great, 'specially live cause you get to shout... 'GET UP! GET UP!' etc etc.. :P To be honest I'm not too sure what the lyrics mean tho.. maybe something about a person living this uniform life, doing exactly what's expected of him, like a soldier conforms in an army, but then one day the person decides he wants to get his own life and try things for himself but people around him aren't having it & try to tell him what's good for him, but he doesn't listen & goes off anyway, and now he's looking back realising he probably should have listened more when 'they gave the price' cause he's not finding anything as good as he'd expected....and he regrets his decsion... or maybe he's glad? Meh.. I'm probably completely wrong here.... it's a good song whatever it means! :$ *ssshes herself*

General CommentI think he's talking about the hussle of life all around him. People in such a hurry to be known, or to accomplish things in their life. Everybody wants to be famous. "everybody's got their lives to shout". And he doesn't understand what all that is worth in the end. "I didn't listen when they gave the price". But he is more of a quiet type, while everyone else runs around and he's saying to them that they really don't even know what they're getting in the end either, so why are they acting like they are winning some huge prize. "you'll find there's nothing to hold up to".
