Glass Onion Lyrics
You know the place where nothing is real
Well here's another place you can go
Where everything flows
Looking through the bent backed tulips
To see how the other half live
Looking through a glass onion
I told you about the walrus and me, man
You know that we're as close as can be, man
Well here's another clue for you all
The walrus was Paul
Standing on the cast iron shore, yeah
Lady Madonna trying to make ends meet, yeah
Looking through a glass onion
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Looking through a glass onion
I told you about the fool on the hill
I tell you man he's living there still
Well here's another place you can be
Listen to me
Fixing a hole in the ocean
Trying to make a dove-tail joint, yeah
Looking through a glass onion
How appropriate for the site, a song about song meanings... A Glass Onion - you just keep peeling it and searching for hidden layers and meanings as much as you want but you ain't gonna see anything new, it was all completely transparent to begin with.
Perfect, defgrip... That sums it all up right there. And anyone else on this page is still just playing into John's game ;). A ruse that lasts over 40 years...now THAT'S genious!

According to Lennon, anyway, it was about how, although in "I Am the Walrus" he sang that he was, Paul was the true "walrus," as he was the one who kept the band together through some tumultuous times, the true leader.
It was another one of the songs that John wrote when he became fed up with people trying to look too much into their songs. It was a song meant to confuse people, especially on the "Paul is Dead" thing. Also, the name Glass Onion was the name that John wanted for one of the bands they signed on for Apple Records. The band didn't like the name Glass Onion and took the name Badfinger instead.
Paul is my favorite Beatle and possibly my all time hero. He is by no means a dick head. This is where you interpret the song, or give your opinion, not where you criticize the bands members.
a real powerfull song that flows great; remeniscing about their great hits of the past.
Yes, that lyric was referring to the whole misunderstanding that Paul was replaced. The walrus is sometimes used to refer to death.
The misunderstanding that Paul was dead. Sorry about the typo.
I THINK HE'S REPEATING"ITS A GOAL".DURING THE PAUL IS DEAD HOAX,PEOPLE BELIEVED THAT "GLASS ONION" WAS REFERING TO A CAFFIN OR A CASKET AND ON THE COVER FOR I THINK THIS SONG W/ ANOTHER FOR A SINGLE,PAULS SITING IN A TRUNK THATS FLIPPED OVER WHILE ALL THE OTHERS AROUND HIM,BELIEVED TO ANOTHER REFERENCE TO PAUL BEING DEAD,MEANING IN A CASKET.
No! Your wrong MuchieMan. You act like it some secret club. If you take hallucinogenic drugs does not mean you get the meaning. Lennon was just playing with words, and as he has said "it was just a throw away song", but still gooder.
its like the poem poem by walt whitman. "When I heard the learn'd astronomer, When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me, When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them, When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with much applause in the lecture-room, How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick, Till rising and gliding out I wandered off by myself, In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time, Looked up in perfect silence at the stars."
