"Bianca (english)" as written by Joakim Herbert Berg, Martin Harry Skold, Harri Kalervo Manty, Markus Mikael Mustonen and Sami Petteri Sirvio....
Reward me now
With high demands
And clean dry skin
An even tan

Reward me now
And shake my hand
A leadership
A high command

Like an empty colourslide
I'm black and white inside
No brilliance here to hide away

I overdosed this time
On pure adrenaline
I'm deaf and dumb and blind

Reward me now
With a high-tech life
A widescreen dream
No cellulites

Reward me now
With a Concorde flight
In clean dry air
Low fat light

Like an empty colourslide
I'm black and white inside
No brilliance here to hide away

I overdosed this time
On pure adrenaline
I'm deaf and dumb and blind again

Like an empty colourslide
I'm black and white inside
No brilliance here to hide away

I overdosed this time
On pure adrenaline
I'm deaf and dumb and blind

General CommentThis song is pretty tight musically - lyrically I could barely make out what he's saying. Not that it makes much sense.

General CommentIt's a pretty lousy translation of the Swedish version, in my opinion. The chorus - which originally tied the scrambled lyrics together - is strangely the worst part of the English version, leaving the rest of the song as incoherent rambling.

I can't really say that I like the song all that much in either language, but at least from the Swedish lyrics it's seemingly about having a lot of material things, but not having anything that you really want or know what to do with. It's a bit like someone saying the old "Whoever has the most things when he dies, wins", and then this song coming along and asking "And then what?".

General CommentThe reason why Kent did two (one?) english album is because they'd become so big in sweden that they had to try to release something for the listeners outside the nordic countries. But I agree that this (and all the others) song get lost somewhere in the translation. And actually, when you understand the lyrics and hear Jocke Berg singing them, they get some much better. Try listening to the swedish version too! Goes for all the english songs.

Back to this song... The lyrics don't tell us much, but I believe it's about politicians in general "black and white inside" means that they give all this empty promises, and "reward me now" (sung very powerfully) is their cry for acceptance and to be acknowledged.

ps. sorry for the bad english... ds.

General CommentI do agree with what you others have said before me, the lyrics in this song is one of the worst written by Jocke. I'm not a huge fan of the swedish lyrics for this song either, even if it's better than the english.

Jocke said in a swedish interview that Bianca is about peoples expectations to be something big without doing anything. Also, he said that it's a political song.
Since the translation's pretty much the same, about all these material things, I guess that the english version tells the same story.

My InterpretationThe fact is we live in a material society with vanity being a key driver. It is a risk and reward relationship. The lyrics "reward me now" speak to this.
