thrown out by her family/ in the midst of anger/ mom and dad can't make sense/ of her sexual preference/ it seems the cars/ just drive by on this night/ no one has any idea/ what this feels like/ BRIDGE; you wave your flag, tell me i'm free/ then use the word fag, to fuck with me/ CHORUS; a right to choose/ gender is not the issue/ VERSE; judged by parents and the public/ the fingers pointed at them/ well i'll point mine right back/ they must realize/ you can't change whom you love/ and gender is not the issue/ BRIDGE; that night she said "i will be true"/ meant every word she said to you/ CHORUS(repeat)/ BRIDGE; it seems today, to be yourself/ takes too much courage and strength/ if you were half the human, as people who "come out"/ this world would be a better place/ you wave your flag/ tell me i'm free/ then use the word fag/ to fuck with me/ go and wave your flag(3x)/ i'm free/ CHORUS(repeat)

General CommentWell, yeah they're saying that everyone has the right to live the way they want to, but it's really about gay rights. Notice how it says:
    You wave your flag
    Tell me I'm free
    Then use the word 'fag'
They're saying that you're not treating everyone as equals if you're discriminating against gay people. This song is one of the main reasons I think Anti-Flag is so great, other political bands that I've listened to always say stupid stuff about "faggots" or "dykes" and then talk about equality. But Anti-Flag fully supports gay rights, go them.

General Commenthell yea this song says all people have a right to live the way they want and when different people are made fun of by the "tough guy nationalists" they are contradicting the american way like the dumbasses that they are

General Commentit seems today, to be yourself/ takes too much courage and strength/ if you were half the human, as people who "come out"/ this world would be a better place/ you wave your flag/ tell me i'm free/ then use the word fag/ to fuck with me/

thats a pretty strong point they make

General CommentThis song is so right on, Gays are people too, and should be able to live however they want. Our government is infringing on its people's own right when it has Anti-gay policies and laws. People should really learn to be more opened minded about other people's choice of lifestyle.

General CommentHow dare "dubs" call himself a fuckin american and than back a bill to amend the constitution making same saex marriage illegal...this is only because he is a SUPER christian bitch and thinks that god rules the USA...i only hae one thing to say "seperation bewtween church and state"....if you can goto a local courthouse and be married then marriage obviously doesnt have anything to do with religion so these ppl should shut the fuck up or be shot in the fuckin face!
