"Love Comes Quickly" as written by Stephen Hague, Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant....
Sooner or later, this happens to everyone
To everyone

You can live your life lonely
Heavy as stone
Live your life learning
And working alone
Say this is all you want
But I don't believe that it's true
'Cause when you least expect it
Waiting round the corner for you

Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)

You can live a life of luxury
If that's what you want
Taste forbidden pleasures
Whatever you want

You can fly away to the end of the end of the world
But where does it get you to?
'Cause just when you least expect it
Just what you least expect

Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)

I know it sounds ridiculous, but speaking from experience
It may seem romantic, and that's no defense
Love will always get to you

Sooner or later, sooner or later, this happens to everyone
To everyone

You can fly away to the end of the end of the world
But where does it get you?

Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)
(Oooh)

Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You can't stop falling (Ooh ooh)

General CommentWow. Not many Pet shop fans commenting. Maybe because their songs are so direct there is little you can say. Anyway, this is my favorite song by them. It is super cool.

General CommentI also love this one. It owns simple lyrics but great indeed. And it obviously talks about those people who pretend to believe they can live without love, or 'cos they are too busy in working&learning or 'cos they own a selfish impression about sex. For different reasons, these people think they aren't prepaired for solid relationships until the day they meet that person who will make them change completely their minds...

Song MeaningVery simple...love is inevitable, even for those who seem to be to busy to give any atention to those matters, even for those who seem not to believe in such a thing, eve for those who somehow tend to say they don't want it, love will eventualy come and strike you even if in the day before you were very much sure it wouldn' happen nothing in your life, love comes quickly, without warning, just when you least expected and there is no way you can avoid that to happen, someday, somehow you will fall in love.
One of the most simple yet beautifull and meaningfull songs made and my favorite by the Pet Shop Boys.
I relate to this song a lot

General CommentThis song is sung so softly and and his voice floats over the music. I think this is the perfect song to play
for someone who hasn't fallen in love with thier music yet.

My InterpretationI LOVE this song. I am a man with a weakness (and massive collection) for love songs. Love comes Quickly by the Pet shop Boys is probably my #1 favorite love song.

The lyrics are all so true. "You can fly away to the end of the world... ...but where does that get you?" He is saying that wealth, money, the finer things in life... ...mean nothing. They are nothing. If you don't have a loving relationship you have nothing. Being loved, and having someone you can give your love to are the main thing in life.

Love comes quickly was a part of my "makeout playlist" when I was single. It's an awesome song for snuggling and kissing and touching and getting in the mood.

My wife and me still love the song and the memories that go with it. Giving my (then my girlfriend) wife flowers, with the lyrics taped into the card, etc.

There is a great cover-version of this by a girl-group called West End Girls. It rocks, and the sweet female vocals add another dimension.

God bless the Pet Shop Boys and their many timeless hits.
