"In September" as written by and Paul Hayden Desser....
I don't need to
take this shit from you
I don't want you calling me up at two
Just to tell me that some guy you met who
While at a party told you that he loved you
I don't need to know this, need to know this
I don't want to know this, want to know this
Tell me the way they are with you
Tell me exactly what they do
things that you say don't need a proof
if what I have is love for you then what's the use?
I don't need to take this shit from you
I don't want you calling me about two
Just to tell me that some guy you met who
While at a party came just looking at you

We never should have said that, in September
We shouldn't go away but stay together
Tell me the way to be with you
Tell me exactly what to do
Things that you say don't make it through
if what I have is love for you
for you...
for you...

General CommentSeptember is when school and university starts.

This song is about a guy who stayed together with a girl when school started, but instead of finding that they talk and call each other to let each other know that they care, the guy find that the girl is just trying to provoke his jealousy. Or at least this is how he perceived it.

He still loves her, but part of him wishes that they just broke things off before they parted...

General CommentAgree with other interpretations. This song could have been written about my ex girlfriend and I. She was insecure and I was very in love with her. Anytime she felt threatened she turned outside of the relationship looking for external validation to demonstrate to me exactly how much everyone liked her and how she didn't actually need to ever deal with the root causes of her insecurity. It was excruciating and ultimately an impossible situation for me, always wondering why attention from people who were not as close to her was preferable to what I had to offer. "tell me the way they are with you, tell me exactly what to do." Ouch Hayden.
