"Too Much Of Not Enough" as written by and Daniel Johns....
She tripped on a hole
That I dug in the soil
To be part of a human garden

I couldn't stand
In the straight postured sun
But you stood in the mud
But you came and saw
When I came along, when I came along
When I came along
See you never stop needing
You never stop needing

A close look at something so close
Too much of not enough
A close look at something so close
Too much of not enough
All we need is just a taste

I strap myself in for a safe saccharide
Before we'd start in the train
To be anything I saw fit
And it all seems to fit
But you came undone when I came along
When I came along, when I came along

See you never stop needing
You never stop needing

A close look at something so close
Too much of not enough
A close look at something so close
Too much of not enough
All we need is just a taste

Now what flies
And shallow truth
Broken stakes
And stolen youth
I've seen too much of not enough
But you came much closer than you had before

And you never stop needing
You never stop needing
You never stop needing
And it's good for nothing

General CommentThis is my favourite song of all time.
My favourite line is "When all you need is just a taste"
I relly really dig Silverchair with all their albums except for the first one
but this is just so f###ing cool. Like Rubberdycku said, it's about causing
others pain with his pain ;P

General Commenti think he wrote this about how depression can come along side with fame [when your young]..and how he helped natalie when she was depressed (if the story i heard was true..) or maybe about how he casued others pain with his pain...i don't know..
but this song is very good, daniel still has it

General Commentthats a pretty good theory. i also think "A close look at something So close It's too much of not enough" is him helping people close to him, and seeing their weaknesses.

General Commentthis is sometimes my favourtie song on the album, very much an underrated Silverchair song

    IT ROCKS!!!

the ending is soooo good, really dreamlike, a great song for going to sleep to.

praps "and I couldn't /Stand in the straight postured sun" refers to his reluctancy to be in the public eye or investigated by the media
and "the human garden", perhaps the moulding/manufacturing of celebrities by the media and teh record companies

General CommentI definately think it's about him and Natalie, what RubberDuckieYAY said was what I was thinking, how his lady help him with his life. I think that's what we all look for at some point in time. The end is my favorite part of this song!
