General CommentThis song has something to do with the Cure learning that Hansa records would not be signing them.

General CommentThis song is mostly crazy make 'em ups in pretend German, and the background vocals are simply hilarious...it's a side of the Cure mostly unseen, and I love it.

General Commentlokithecat is on the right track. Hansa wanted The Cure to take a certain direction with thier music, but the band would have none of it. Former drummer/keyboardist Lol Tolhurst says that Hansa "didn't really know how to handle us as a band. Do The Hansa is our rather tounge in cheek 'ode' to them!"
